these are the nights that never die Empty these are the nights that never die

Post by myawfod 8/13/2015, 7:09 am

Name: Lilitu Siavash Senka ('Of the night' 'Possessing black stallions' 'Shadow').

Age: Lili is twelve years, eleven months and eleven days old, one day from being thirteen.

    Gender: Lilitu is a female.

Eyes: Lil has dark brown eyes, so dark they appear black. They are often said to suck out your soul and such, but she is blind out of one eye and therefore clouded in her left optic. She wears contact lenses, and has a whole collection, though she normally uses those when meeting new people as her clouded, wandering eye is a little unnerving.

Hair: Lilitu Siavash has coal-black hair, with the tips sometimes edging towards grey. It's often hastily put up in a messy bun, with flyaways and split ends everywhere. When it's down, it reaches to her mid-back, and underneath or with short hairs, quite curly. It's immensely thick, making it a rarity to be seen down.

Height: 160 cm, or for all you Americans 5'3".

Body Type: Lili is very skinny, with no curves or body shape whatsoever. She has wrists you can put your hand around, and ankles that look like they could break at any second.

Skin Color: Lilitu is very pale, with a dapple of freckles here and there.

God Parent: Euphrosyne - Goddess of joy, pleasure, mirth, feasts and banquets.

Mortal Parent: Lili's father is Bozidar Senka, a kind man with a well-used laugh and a passion for helping others. His dream was to open a bed-and-breakfast, but this dream was halted when he lost his daughter, who was the light in his world. He met the goddess one day when he was volunteering at meals-and-wheels, and a week later a basket full of food appeared on his doorstep, also containing his child. He was confused at first, but took excellent care of the child until Euphrosyne came back one day and explained to Bozidar about the Greek gods. After that last encounter, he never saw Euphrosyne again, but took even better care if possible of Lilitu, waiting for the day a satyr would come and knock on their door.

Country of Origin: Croatia, although she doesn't remember this and believes it is Serbia.

Pets: A pure white rat with gleaming red eyes called Nisha, who is adventurous, loyal, and he is often found sleeping in Lili's pocket, hat or other places around her.

Talents: Lilitu has a special talent for horse riding, if the horse prefers gentle, slower and calmer riders. She has excellent night vision, hearing, sense of smell and touch, along with a very light foot and swift tree-climbing abilities. She makes it through a pile of dried leaves with merely a few rustles, imperceptible to most human's and demigod's ears. She also speaks Serbian, as well as English, and can still her breathing so it is barely a whisper of air escaping.

Weapon**: Lilitu carries around a black leather strip, worn across her torso diagonally, at the hip holding a sheath. This sheath contains a pocket knife and a small, normal dagger, the blade ten centimetres (3 inches) long, the hilt 8 centimetres (3 inches aprox.), made of iron, the hilt of bone dyed black. She has named it 'najcrnji mesec', or 'darkest moon' in Serbian. In mortal danger, she may resort to throwing Nisha and running, but I don't really think that counts. She hasn't picked up a Celestial Bronze weapon yet, though she will add on to what she currently has once she's claimed.

Personality: Lilitu is a very misunderstood, mysterious sort of character. She can often be mistaken for goth, punk or emo, as she dresses in all black and such. Many are too afraid to approach her, as her neutral face is very close to a normal person's 'leave me alone' face, and gets easily annoyed when people come up to her and ask if she's okay, as well as getting easily annoyed in general, leading to her lack of friends. She is often lonely, but puts on a great mask and takes it off for next to nobody. Lili likes reading, riding, writing and people watching, especially with her close friends whom she can crack jokes with.

She has a rock-hard exterior, but if she opens up to you she is loyal to the bone, protective, funny, caring and kind, but can sometimes be a little clingy because of her general lack of acquaintances. She avoids getting caught up in unnecessary conflict, but of her pride or friends are involved, nothing can stop her. She has a choice selection of insults, and will fling relentlessly if involved. Physical combat she avoids as much as possible, but same rules apply as in verbal conflict. She is more of a flighty person, with a lithe frame perfect for scampering away and hiding. If ever she is afraid, she will climb a tree or hide in any way possible, still her breathing, an art she has mastered, and sing an old lullaby in Serbian in her head. She waits until the danger is gone, whether it be monsters or mean girls, and comes out of hiding cautiously.

Lilitu Siavash is an introverted character, who can be described as shy, nervous, timid and quiet. She is on a neutral status with most at Camp Half Blood, bar the friends and enemies. When provoked, her temper flares quickly, suddenly and in short bursts, in the same conversation going from introverted to arrogant and back again.

Flaws: Flighty tendencies, easily annoyed, weak physically, deathly loyal to close ones, irrational and irrevocable fear of full-grown men.

Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): Sends out weak happy vibes when she's extremely happy, also makes people's tasks a little bit more pleasureful when she's in a good mood.

Powers (must relate to god parent; optional): The ability to multiply food, feasts and banquets, twicefold (cooldown of three posts), fivefold times (cooldown of seven posts), or tenfold (cooldown of one thread). Can also send out purposely extreme happy vibes, cooldown of thirteen posts.

Life Before Camp*: Lilitu grew up simply in Croatia with her father, until she was twelve years old, sick of all the giving her father was doing. She owned little, because all the money that should have gone to her went to charities, and she was sick of it. Doing the sensible thing, she ran away, taking what money she could and taxi-ing, walking and taking trains to Croatia, where she quickly adapted to the street life. A month after she arrived, she was found and taken in by an orphanage owner, swiftly befriending a fellow orphan, Mardica.
She was on a moonlit walk one night, when she heard a loud growling noise, and whipped around to see a Nemean lion, pressed in the alleyway. Lili screamed, and Mardica flew out the window, normally auburn hair now a frizzy white as she handed a confused Lilitu a Celestial bronze knife. They both attacked, trying to stab the lions front paws but to no avail. They managed to back the lion into a tight space, and whilst it was struggling to get free Mardica told Lili that straight after this, go to the box under her bed, take the money, and meet back here in five minutes. The lion freed itself, and the cloud nymph ran into its mouth, Lilitu flicking the blade into its maw as it dissolved, Mardica flying out just before it left behind a golden pelt.
She did as Mardica had said, finding a stack of money, another Celestial bronze dagger and some passports, which she grabbed. She returned to the alleyway, Mardica explaining the basics of demigods to Lilitu, then manipulating the mist to make herself look like Lili's mother. They flew to New York, then took a train to Long Island, walking until they reached Camp Half-Blood, the demigods amazed by her feats.

RP Example*: Lilitu wasn't a morning person, to say the least. She often rose at about nine o'clock, by which point everybody in the Minor Gods cabin was up, most out and about. She liked it better with less people, easier to forget her months in the orphanage, Mardica.... No. She has to stay focused, neutral, and at all costs away from her past. She sat up, rubbing her eyes and rubbing her fingers together, summoning Nisha from the top of her pillow. She murmured a 'Morning' to the white rat and swung her legs out of bed, slipping into her black slippers as she messily grabbed her clothes out of her drawers, grumbling all the while. She made her way slowly to the bathroom, brushing her teeth, getting a shower and dressed, lacing up her black boots to the point of pain, just the way she liked it. She shouldered her leather jacket and put her arm on the sink, allowing Nisha a free passage up her arm, around her neck and into her pocket, snuggling tight into a warm ball on her heart. She smiled at her reflection in the mirror, messy hair and bleary face, but happy. She donned her makeup and put her hair up in her customary way- messy bun, and looked in the mirror once more, flipping her face into its usual unreadable mask and exiting, chucking her pajamas in a messy ball on her bed and walking out of the cabin, posture straight as she made her way to the dining hall.

Any notes about your characters: NA

Just wanna stick my head in and mention: Isn't Charites actually a group of goddesses, rather than just one? That's what Google (Theoi among them) is telling me. Forgive me if I'm wrong, though.

I believe that depends on the source? However, I will bow to that.

EUTHYMIA - One of the Charites.

PS - Kenny, Charites is listed as singular on our deities list

    Spoiler:

If you mean the stickied one, they're said to be "goddesses" rather than just one. Not sure why they're listed as just one group rather than individually, but I'll fix that soon.

Okay, so, slave trade does happen in eastern Europe, and it's brutal, but I doubt a rich family would buy her. And even in Serbia, it would be hard to live four years alone on the streets, blind in one eye. Also this is rather dark for a site with players as young as 11.

Okay, I'll blank out some of the back story? Or I could just change it to something else completely.

    Okay,

    1. Human trafficking is still illegal even in Serbia, which, while it has it's problems is not some sort of distopian universe where a family can own a slave and not have any legal issues. Almost all human trafficking in Serbia is shunted through brothels in the sex trade industry, and are females over the age of puberty.

    2. Again, I doubt that anyone, especially someone traumatized by human trafficking, young, alone and half blind would be able to survive in a city alone for months, much less years.

How did a 12 year old get a passport and a plane ticket? She would need an adult's help.

Okay, I'll mention that Mardica had a mist-induced passport and a bottle of mist spray to make Lili seem older.

Spray mist is only from the movie.

Oh, and satyrs are all male in Riordan-verse. The female equivalent is a nymph. You might want your nymph to survive to help Lilitu get to camp, since they would be better trained at manipulating the mist.
