- Spoiler:
- Alright so to start this 'review' off I can actually say I was presently surprised by this book, and I quite enjoyed it. Even though it was full of the first person writing that Rick seems to be so fond of lately and the fact that he kept shoving references to the fact that it was happening in the same universe as the Percy Jackson series down our throats. Just the little bits we got with Annabeth would have been enough for me. But, I digress the part about 'Jack' not wanting to turn into a pen because it was a dumb idea was pretty funny. Also, I must say that out of all the Gods we got to 'witness' Loki was definitely my favorite simply because of how much he reminded me of Loki from the book series 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman, definitely recommend it btw,and it was nice for a change to have a Loki that accurately depicts his mythological counterpart and isn't just 'misunderstood' like a certain Hidelston. My favorite character by far was honestly Hearthstone just because of the guy's backstory and even then we still don't completely know all of it but that def Elf was amazing. I'd love to know more about the other residents of floor 19 as well as what happens to the Demi-Gods or 'people with target's on their backs' that are alive and know they're children of Norse Gods. Though if the sixteenth birthday thing is any indication they apparently don't live that long anymore. The fight with Surt and Fenris seemed slightly anti-climatic but I can let that slide because I actually enjoyed 'Jack' and even though Magnus is just another over powered character he wasn't half bad either. All in all it was a pretty solid first book and I can't wait to see how it goes and ties in with the other two (three?) series after the way he ended Annabeth and Magnus 2.0 talking. But what do you all think? Agree with anything I said? Completly disagree? It's okay that you're totally wrong but let's talk it all out
Also this was up pretty fast xD
