Warm Beach

Darcy sat on the sand, alone. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, and she was reading a fashion magazine. Kicking off her flip flops, she got comfortable and rolled on her stomach, and flipped through the magazine.

"Hellooo!"

Dayami came to a stop next to the girl and smiled at her. Lean and graceful with long black hair, she was definitely a daughter of Aphrodite or Apollo. They were the best looking kids here or so she had gathered. Dayami on her side had leg jiggle, a little belly fat but didn't really seem to let that bother her. The Filipina was wearing a brand new camp shirt, a pair of shorts and her old boots, her dark hair down to mid-back.

"You're Darcy? I'm Dayami, I'm new too!" she excitedly said.

Darcy sat up gracefully and smiled sweetly at Dayami. 'I'm Darcy, my dear.'

Dayami plopped down on the sand next to her. "Did you get claimed already? I haven't. And I can't wait! I don't know who my mom is but I'm sure she's awesome. Oh! What if we were half sisters?"

"Slow down, Darling! It would be an honor to be your half sister. I'm the daughter of Aphrodite.'

"Aphrodite! That's so cool!" She clapped her hands. "I heard that when you get claimed by Aphrodite you have this big aura, and a magical make over, and you look super beautiful for at least twenty four hours!"

She chuckled. 'Yes, that happens. Its quite cool.'

"Wooow. So, can you make people fall in love with you and stuff?" she asked, all happy and enthusiastic.

Darcy giggled. "Sort of."

Dayami's eyes gleamed. "No way! So you had a lot of boyfriends already?"

Darcy's expression dulled. "Nope."

Dayami crossed her legs and rested her elbows on her knees. "Are you lesbian?" she asked with curiosity.

'Bisexual.' She smiled sweetly.

"Oooooh," Dayami said before smiling again. Of course the daughter of Love would be bisexual! "So did you have a lot of girlfriends then?"

She shook her head. "Never dated before. I'm okay with that though."

"Oh," she said again. "You must be picky then!"

"Nobody takes much interest in me." She smiled sadly, then got up and dusted sand off her. 'Wanna sit down, darling?'

Dayami got up too. "Huh? Sure, where?" The beach was rather devoid of any benches slash deck chairs.

"On my towel, silly!" She giggled, showing her bright teeth. She smiled, letting the demigod sit down.

"Oh." Slapping her hand over her face, she hopped over and plopped down on the towel next to Darcy. "Wow, this is really fluffy! Where did you get it?"

She smiled. 'I got it from eBay.' She shrugged and plopped on the sand.

"Are you rich?" Dayami asked before putting her hand over her mouth. "Sorry. Was that rude?"

"It wasn't rude, and no, im not, dear."

"Oh," she said. "I'm asking cause a lot of people here are and so I was just wondering." The Filipina smiled brightly. "Hey, do you wanna hear a pun?"
