Olympians [Only For Those Who Signed Up] Mt__Olympus_by_Elven_Glade
It had been a century since the fall of the gods.  Their most trusted offspring had been chosen to rise to power and rule as their heirs. After dozens of training sessions with their god parents before their departure from the immortal world the children of these gods had discovered the true power of their parent and the power that was going to become there’s. With Astrid Sarafina becoming the new Loki and releasing her father from banishment and torture as well as Paula Asina becoming the new Pluto the world of Earth is looking to become a place with new clashes of gods as well as friendships.

This was the 100th year since the vanishing of the original gods ned on that day the new gods and goddesses all convened at Olympus to talk about the year past as well as what the future would hold.

Astrid stood next to her father’s throne with Oracle around her shoulders. The now goddess took to dressing in a female version of the Loki from the Thor movies simply due to her love of the look. No matter how often the others told her the old gods weren’t coming back Astrid still refused to sit upon the throne of her father, it was too hurtful to think he was gone forever. You need to stop worrying about the past, goddess. Look to the future and all the fun you can have. Oracle hissed in her ear. She was referencing how she could now mother demigods and that they would visit her every summer and winter solstice but even she didn’t have any offspring yet, nor did she plan to. Her father was condemned to a life of torture and solitude so his children were rare enough, that legacy would continue.

Syn looked around Olympus and sighed. His brother and sister would have loved to see their friends like this and in their Olympian robes. Lena never woke up from her coma all those years ago and Malik lived a happy and healthy life up until he died a few days before his wife. As Synyster sat upon his throne as a giant Olympian god he rested his cheek on a closed fist as he watched the other gods and goddesses begin to enter the arena as well as mingle with one another. It was sad to think he never got to tell Lena about all that happened but it wasn’t something he could change. Even with her being dead as well as her brother he couldn’t see them with all those souls running amongst one another in the Underworld.

    One century

Jack no longer kept track of time. When he was still a demigod he loved Back to the Future. But the movie became long forgotten. No one remembered Doc Brown, Marty McFly or the DeLorean. The worst pain was his mother Melanie. In the middle of the 21st century she passed away, suffering from cancer. There was no Apollo to heal her. He thought he wouldn't be orphaned when he recalled that Deimos departed. He took his father's place.

Every now and then he would sit on his throne, slumped, rewatching Back to the Future for hundreds thousands of times. When he had terrorizing duty he travelled around in a flying DeLorean. The movie was nostalgic. It helped the god grab simultaneously on the past and present.

Jack sat on his throne, watching for the 118974th time (he keeps records) the Rogers' Locomotor pushing on the DeLorean and ran down the track out to Shonash Ravine to reach 88 MPH.

Josh had tried his best to keep his old habits, he didn't really want to become a different person or lose part of himself ever sence he became a god, though technically he became a Titan but he considered himself a god, like his godly mother before him, Hecate. Sadly enough he lost most of his old habits, and formed new ones. What relived him the most, was that he didn't seem to really change that much at all in the last century, some change did occur but not enough for most people to notice.
Josh's pitch black trench coat swished around him as he walked, black leather boot thumping on the floor. His attire when the light catched it just right, it looked as if the entire night sky in a valley far from the touch of man was contained within the very fabric and leather.
He walked to a part of the room away from most of the new gods and goddesses, he turned to face them awaiting others to pile in the chamber for the council to start.

Marcus sat on his throne, he had recently arrived from his recently inherited forage. He had decided to wear a nice (but grease stained) red polo shirt and grease stained jeans he had tried to clean out stains, but they stayed anyway mostly because he hadn't tried very hard. He fiddled with a wire, coiling and uncoiling it over and over again. He hoped nothing major had happened to his personality over the pass century.

Tiberia appeared on her throne in a liquid shimmer. She was dressed in antique Roman attire: blue dress held at the shoulders with chunky golden pins that matched her intricate earrings, white silk wrapping around her upper body. A crown of coral sat on her forehead and her blue eyes radiated power.

    Post by redline2400 5/15/2016, 9:54 pm

After 100 years, the world wasn't two different from when the years began with a 20. Sure, 100 years of history had taken place, and 100 years of new trends and inventions had changed the way the mortal lives below had occurred, but that was all superficial. Below that, nearly nothing had changed: warring nations still fought, ideologies still clashed, people could never truly trust one another, and power still corrupted even the greatest of mortal intents.

For Dean Fidelis - he dropped Basilone when his sister died a few decades ago, only legion historians and his few now-immortal friends from the 12th still using the Italian surname - the past 100 years had been a struggle. A struggle to find purpose whilst maintaining a level head. Sure, being the personification of level-headedness helped in keeping sane, but watching 100 years fly before your eyes and not aging a second was a bit offsetting. Being as minor of a deity as his mother was, Dean wondered just how Securitas was able to keep her cool being so weak when compared to the rest of the Roman pantheon.

But now was not the time for that, not the time for contemplation. Now was the time to have fun, to relax and to not worry about just how relevant you were even to your old friends. Now was the time to sit on your throne - albeit it was more of a simple padded marble chair compared to the ornate thrones of the others - clad in your old legionnaire armor (with a hood added on, because why not have an unused, always down hood and no helmet? It's not like he could die) and khakis, the last semblance Dean retained of his past life. He kept "Darcy", his imperial gold Mainz gladius - now carrying an electric charge, because immortality is a great power to have - close by him; he could never know for sure if one of the more aggressive gods would have an outburst or anything.

Astrid noticed Tiberia and made her way gracefully over to the goddess. Tiberia, how have you been? She inquired standing next to the Roman.Truth be told she didn't really know the goddess well enough to call her a friend but she preferred the Romans to the Greeks, seeing as the Greeks were a little more full of themselves when she was a demigoddess. Oracle slithered down and around where the new Loki stood, keeping close enough to stay warm but far enough away to be seen on the ground.

Olympians [Only For Those Who Signed Up] Empty Re: Olympians [Only For Those Who Signed Up]

Post by Shade 5/16/2016, 10:54 am

A lot could change in 100 years. The man that had been Romulus Emanuel Mercury was 22 when the incident with the Gods had happened. A lot had happened in the years from his sixteen year old self to then yet he remembered it like it was yesterday.  Like any good Roman he did finish his required 10 years of service in the legion before leaving as the Centurion of the 1st Cohort. During this time Romulus took the ASVAB scoring a perfect score of 99 he quickly joined the Marines at the officer rank of 1st Lt. For four years he served as a special operations officer for the United States Marines and was just about to be assigned to a mission in Egypt to deal with a hostage situation in the United States Embassy there when it happened.

Like his father before him he dropped his human name of Romulus when he ascended to ‘God Hood’, taking the name Quirinus for himself. It only seemed fitting as he himself had of course been named after the original Romulus, his father’s name when he had been mortal. Quirinus liked to believe that he adjusted to ‘God Hood’ easier than others did and although he was a quick learner it had taken him some time to actually adjust to everything. To learn the ropes, to understand the full extent of his newfound powers as well as his duties. In the Roman Pantheon he was not just some minor God. He was Quirinus, the God of War, Power, and Mysteries the ‘Wielder of the Spear’ along with Jupiter and Mars he formed the Capitoline Triad also known as the Archaic Triad.

Surprisingly in 100 years he had not changed all that much, personality wise. He was still a soldier, a leader and a man of the people. His ideology had not changed all that much he was one of the more active Gods. In terms of interference at least. Sure, he still abided by the ancient laws and did not directly interfere but there were whispers amongst the mortals that if you were ever in a position where you were in need of assistance for one reason or another and blinked you might catch a flash of what appeared to be a burning spear taking out the ‘troublemaker’ before everything was dealt with. Rumors of course that Quirinus would neither accept nor deny.

Which of course brings us to today. The date was exactly 100 years since all of the ‘New Gods’ as they were taken to being called had fully risen to their power. 100 years since the ‘Old Gods’ had vanished, faded, or whatever for good it seemed. They would all gather here today to discuss things, of what he was currently unsure but he knew that would be one topic he would bring up. The fact that no one truly knew what happened still irked Quirinus not just because it could happen to them eventually. A cloud of mist would seem to gather itself in the corner of the room and from out of the shadows he would emerge. Clad in what appeared to be a black tuxedo with a red vest and accents where appropriate. His metals earned during his service in the 12th Roman Legion as well as his rank from there and the Marine Corps were displayed as well. His Verutum Spear, the symbol of his power sheathed across his back.

He may not like a flashy entrance like the rest of the Gods but even before he had been made a God he had been able to make head turns. Now that was just accented even greater than before, he was usually the center of attention wherever he went. He was the God of Power and he radiated it like a beacon of hope when he was in a room. He was also a born strategist and his mind was constantly working on overtime wherever he was, today was no different. Walking towards the center of the room he made quick notice of who was all here and who was still missing. Nodding to Tiberia as he passed, making his way over to Dean. His prodigy from back in the day, and still a very close friend and confidante when need be. “Well met Fidelis.” He said holding out his arm.

"You too Romulus," the replacement for Securitas replied, "sup" nodding as he shook his former mentor's outstretched hand, "you too." His voice perked up a bit, the memories of those mentoring sessions all those many years ago coming back to him. "You know, I'm a bit surprised you're not in the dress blues Rom. If I was coming up to something as big as this, I know I'd be in dress uniform. Sh*t, I'd have my saber and everything with me as well."

OOC: Shade, you should totally throw in the new Nike. Imagine immortal Darren and Tiberia.

BIC: Cameron appeared on her throne, picking her nails with a knife. She was in desert fatigues, her white hair crowned with a wreath of olive twigs. Her throne was classic Roman: made of pure white marble, accented with gold, no intricate carvings or detailed designs. Just one chunk of marble, polished to perfection.
Her eyes, brown during her demigod years, were now shining like radioactive ivory as she scanned the room. Securitas was here, Quirinus was here, Vulcan was here. Good.
She had taken the form of a girl in her early twenties, with white hair and shades, a dove sitting on her shoulder.
Sliding off her throne, she walked over to Quirinus and Securitas.

"Ave," she told them. "What's up?"

When she took up the mantle of her mother, the original Pax, Cam had realized there was far more to being a divinity than she had thought. First of all, she was fluid -- sort of. Most of her essence might be here, but other parts of her were scattered around the world: she was at peace conventions, she was on battlefields, she was ordering a pizza. She was wherever she wanted to be. She was literally a breath away from anywhere in the world.

Also, she had a Greek side: Eirene. The whole Greek/Roman aspect had messed with her the first years, but now she was good with it. She had also become one of the Horai, and thus a minor spring goddess, which explained why the air around her always smelled of fresh grass and blossoms.

Dean/Securitas/Fidelis/Whatever he was supposed to be called noticed Pax - aka Cameron Harper, a damn good friend of his back when death was a legitimate worry - heading over to him, looking as good as she always did (OOC @ Morgan: Let's just say they got to the dating part back when they were mortal. Whether or not that continued, you decide). "Ave Cam; nice MARPAT by the way."

"No, I don't yearn to raise hell. I just understand that peace means -- no adversity. If that means nuking some b!tches out of existence, fine by me." Taking her shades off, she tucked the glasses into her neckline, trying to ignore her Greek part that was trying to soothe her down. We could also make peace with our enemies, you know.

    No.

    It could be beneficial.

    No.

Every time I do something right, they screw around with it, and Amechania isn't helping either. Fortunately I got some help from Justitia and Invidia, but between you and me, this could take centuries."

"The Kazakstan civil war looks as though it's coming to a head, and Argentina is looking to capitalize on the turmoil in Brasilia, so maybe I could, say, intervene in Pakistan and try an and work some of my magic there?"

"Expect Minerva to be here soon. She was a little delayed, I had a little misshap with some machinery, which caused her delay." Marcus-Vulcan said overhearing the last part of some of the 'new gods' conversation. He had decided to leave his majestic machincal throne, to walk around and try to socialize.

Cameron nodded, feeding her dove bits of bread that she made appear out of her hand. She liked being to these gatherings early, but apparently not all deities were like that.

Tiberia-Neptune stood up from her throne and walked over to Securitas, Pax, and Quirinus. She was on good terms with the first two, but hadn't seen Quirinus in a while thanks to all the work she had going on under sea level. She had missed him.

"Hello Romulus," she said with a smile, her blue eyes glowing. "Where have you been recently? Haven't seen you at all."

A slight grin formed on Quirinus’ face when Dean mentioned the dress blues and the saber. Being totally dressed up and pampered. ]“I haven’t been a United States Marine for 100 years. I honor my past but do not cling to it as some still do. Plus, I am not a fan of the new dress blues.” The conversation went on from there with Quirinus putting his two cents in every now and then. Like for instance how the President of Brazil had been a despicable man and his death was good for the country. Or how the Civil War in Kazakhstan was Mars/Ares fault. That was one of the good things about being a God, you were able to focus on much more than a human could. Sure, as a human he was fairly good at multitasking or at least the mortal equivalent of it but now? Now he could do as many tasks as he wanted and still be completely focused on each and every single one of them.

Tiberia-Neptune approaching him and making her presence known was an interesting development. The two had not crossed paths in quite some time. Not since she and Nike had finally admitted their feelings for each other. Sure, he didn’t believe in love as evident by the fact that he was still a ‘loveless fool’ as the New Aphrodite/Venus called him once but those two had been obvious even to him. That may not have been the reason the two hadn’t spoken in quite some time though, it generally just came down to how busy they had both been and the fact that their domains simply did not cross all that often. Wars were being fought less and less over water now that technology had advanced so far. That of course wasn’t to say that they weren’t still fought over pointless things the mortals found the further deeper in the oceans they delved. Her calling him Romulus however was strange. It was a name he hadn’t been called in quite some time.

“Tiberia.” He replied with a soft smile on his face silver and red mysterious eyes resting on his old friend. “It has been some time. As for where I’ve been . . . around is perhaps the best answer. As well as the one that gives me plausible deniability.” It was strange he had always been a rule follower, a perfect Roman soldier and Marine but he had a conscious. That was something that would never change. He was a man of action and he’d be damned if he didn’t act even as a God. “You seem to be missing your other half though.” Because better half was certainly not a word to be used. Even if Nike had calmed down and matured in the past century. The impulsive boy was still evident in his personality.

Despite wanting to ask Tiberia a few things - aka make sure she wasn't tripping on her relatively new powers yet - Dean-Securitas recognized that this moment was between her and Romulus-Quirinus. Respecting that, he turned back to Cam-Pax and asked a most pressing of questions: "So do you always keep that bird with you or is this just a special enough occasion to bring a pet?"

"Victoria isn't here yet," she said with a small shrug, "he's busy being... all over the place. You know him." As Darren was a cis male it was sometimes weird to refer to him as Victoria, but after a century's worth of shifting between the different names, it didn't quite matter anymore. If anything, it had become an inside joke: him being Nike, her being Neptune. "We need to talk. There's been some unrest under the surface, some creatures I thought long dead have reappeared in unusual places. It's under control right now, thanks to Triton and the heroes of Camp Fish-Blood, but it might escalate."

"What do you mean, bring a pet? This is my dove, my sacred animal." She grinned and winked. "You're just bitter cause you don't have any." A hundred years had passed but she still loved to tease him and provoke him a little. It was what she did, after all.
