Life at camp was an ordeal. It was loud, boisterous, and often times dangerous in some way shape or form. This was especially true when you took into account the fact that a bunch of the kids here basically had super powers. It was any summer camp's worst nightmare. However, amidst all of the chaos, sometimes at Camp Half-Blood you were able to find a calm past all the noise; a period of time that was kept in blissful silence and relaxation. No cabins feuding or camp activities going on; not even any siblings around to bother you. Elise loved her siblings, but she needed moments to herself to keep sane. Hell, she figured that anyone did.
Those moments where she found that she had the cabin to herself were her moments of relaxation. There wasn't anything pressing at her to get done, and for once she wasn't looking for something that needed doing. Today when she looked around the cabin and found it empty, she simply took a deep breath and moved for her bag, picking out some reading material before settling on her bed. For the past hour or so now she'd been reading this book she'd offhandedly picked up titled History's Greatest Lies by William Weir. She enjoyed it. It wasn't by any means outstanding but it definitely wasn't bad. It had a lot of interesting facts that she was happy to learn. Although once she got to the bit that said Emperor Nero didn't really fiddle while Rome burnt she couldn't help but think, duh. She couldn't imagine why he'd ever have a reason to. But hey, not everyone may have known that, and that was okay. She could let that slide, she was happy with where she was. It was a beautiful, quiet day, and she had a good book to read. At least for one more chapter.
Life was good.
