- Rainbow ~ When she was officially claimed one of the younger campers started calling her this after her mother's position, she embraced it and it caught on.

Hometown/Last Residence: New York City. Her father and Stepmother brought her a small flat in a building near her. Jayanti tends to stay at Camp year round but sometimes goes home at the end of the Summer and 'just happens' to choose to return before the next Summer. Her stepmother usually ends up doing a quick clean after Jayanti leaves to return to camp, mainly just stuff that would start to smell bad eventually.

- Technically it's not her bird but she started feeding and caring for one of the ravens she found in the forest, she sometimes brings it into the camp grounds and it trusts her as a pet bird would so it's often credited as hers.

Appearance: Jayanti stands at approximately 5'7" making her significantly taller than the average Indian and slightly taller than the average American woman. She possesses a relatively slim yet not completely tiny frame, her usual wearing of sweatpants and baggier shirts make the fat on her less noticable. One of the most noteworthy features of the Indian-born demigod is her long hair. Jayanti's hair is an almost-black brown, dead straight and reaches right down to her waist, it's one of the few things she's not lazy when it comes to it. She takes great care of her long hair so it's always soft and smooth. Her skin is a golden brown and her face sport little acne par occasional break outs which she covers with make-up often. Her skin manages to stay relatively clear of freckles. Her eyes are a large rounded almond shape with chocolate brown irises.

Jayanti takes after her mother, Iris, and only uses weaponry as a defense.

Armour Jay's amour is made in primarily leather with steel over vital points such as the chest plate and braces. She also has a steel helmet. Her breastplate has a rainbow, the symbol of her mother, etched in it. In the etched rainbow another material that reflects rainbows when in the sun is at the right angle but the clever Hephaestus kid that made that part at her request wouldn't tell her what they used.

~Personality~

Strengths:

• Jayanti has a way of putting even a temporary smile on most faces
  
• In general she's easy to approach and talk to, mainly in open situations- not so serious ones
  
• She actually a rather good baker, not only that she's actually rather talented in decorating cakes also. She considering going into the cake decorating business when she leaves camp half blood for good (instead of becoming a cabin leader)
  

Weaknesses:

• Distracted- Even the smallest things can distract her. She also has a rather short attention span in most situations but her easy distraction only makes this worse. True, all demigods have ADHD to some extent but hers sees to be rather heightened even for a demigod
  
• Immature- Sure, Jay can be mature wen she needs to be, however, when she thinks she doesn't see the need to be mature in a lot of things she should. For example, she would know to be mature while visiting the gods and goddesses on Mt Olympus and she would likely not act completely childish in the formal Olympian council, however, will find other means to do so around then. (so she might throw marshmallows at her fellow campers during meals or spend the time in the elevator joking).
  
• Cleaning after herself - Jayanti is absolutely terrible at cleaning after her stuff. Usually she's respectable enough to keep most of her mess in her drawer and on her bunk but it's still there. She's the kind of kid who's bedroom when she lived with her father was littered with clothes, cups, mugs, paper and art supplies.
  

Skills/Talents:
"Does eating count as a talent?"

• Eating- Whether you count it as a talent or not Jayanti is rather (most possibly too) proud of how much she could eat. She can eat more than most girls her size and still have room for a desert or two. Thanks to her metabolism it doesn't even show... much... while wearing her usual loose shirts.
  
• Art - Whether she's painting or decoration cakes or scrapbooking; Jayanti tends to have a knack for art. She could never get sculpting down pat though
  
• Sleeping- Once again, not all would consider this a skill but Jayanti is also proud of her ability to sleep through even the loudest of sounds. This could be a terrible skill to have as much as good one and it usually takes a lot of shoving and even slapping from her cabin mates to wake her up in the morning sometimes
  
• Spreading the cheer- Jayanti seems to usually know the right way to lighten a day or put a smile on her face. Although she fails occasionally her cheerfulness is usually temporarily contagious.
  

Flaws:

• Jayanti has a rather large nose; she often teases herself about it
  
• Lazy- Jay is rather lazy a fair bit. Some things do get her going and she does keep going but more than occasion she's extremely lazy
  
• Tardy- It's a very common occurrence to see Jayanti rushing to a lesson minutes after it begins. For her schedules are more of a suggestion than a guide.
  
• Childish- Even at the worst of times to be so Jayanti can be childish and immature.
  
• Slob- Jayanti is terrible at picking up hr things and will use any excuse she can to get out of cleaning
  
• Snoring- Jay is a snorer, much to the distress of her cabin mates
  
• Commitment issues- Particularly in a relationship commitment scare Jayanti
  
• Clumsy- Jayanti has two left feet and commonly finds herself tipping over nothing ad running into walls
  

Habits:

• Twirls her hair around her fingers.
  
• She tends to, unintentionally, switch from English to Hindi when ranting.

Fears:

• Commitment, she can't handle it and fears failing people.
  
• Clowns; it was something she feared as a child but after a few nightmares they still seem to scare her
  
• Becoming really depressed- Jayanti's always been a rather charismatic person. Sure, she has her ups and downs but becoming truly depressed or even falling into the hands of depression itself? The idea of such happening scares her more than death itself.
  

Personality:
Fun, quirky and confident Jayanti, to most people, is fun to be around. She embraces awkward silences like they're her best friend and is often found joking around. She tries to get along with everyone and has dedicated herself to spread joy through everyone she meets. With a bucket-load of confidence Jayanti is not afraid to do some of the most random things absolutely anywhere. Jayanti is carefree and very much an optimist. She believes that almost any problem or problematic situation has some hope in working out and the rest are something to not dwell upon.

Jayanti can be very clumsy and embraces her clumsiness with open arms. She often pokes fun at her own insecurities, she found it was very effective with being teased less in her younger days (because if you find it funny it's going to be hard for others to get you down about it) but she also uses it as a way to cheer up the people around her.

Jayanti is a bit of a slob. Laziness is something that hits her for a small chunk of time before she gets back to being moderately active. Her bunk, however, is most probably the disgrace of cabin seventeen. She's respectable to keep her junk out of the shared spaces but her area is usually atrocious. Odd smell coming from one of the bunks? Probably Jayanti's area. Clothes not where they belong? Probably Jayanti's clothes. That mug she drank out of a month ago? Yeah, that's still on the window sill. For some cabin inspections she cleans it quickly but half of it is usually stuffed in the wardrobe or such. She calls it creativity, everyone else calls it messy, not that she minds, the time could be spent in better ways. Jayanti loves food and often jokes food is her life. The three things she'll claim to need in her life is food, sleep and happiness. When she's not doing her duties or the camp's activities she probably is eating, socializing or lazing about, possibly sleeping.

Jayanti is known to be childish but she can actually be rather mature and responsible when she feels she needs to be, problem is she just doesn't see many opportunities that call for it, situation doesn't call for maturity in her eyes as quickly as most people would think it would. Commitment scares Jayanti slightly, she's terrible when it comes to commitment particularly in a relationship and has failed to date someone for over seven months. Though her joyfulness and childishness Jayanti can get annoying to some campers more often that others and has a tendency to walk herself into everyday dangers and threats.

~Demigod/Camp Information~

Abilities: Jayanti seems to have a way with the pegasi, they tend to love her. She can understand to an extent, not hear them as Percy can but more of a general understanding. Being around them so long she's gained a knack for knowing which ninny means they're hungry or tired or such
Powers: She can summon rainbows and multi-colored blasts of energy. The second can tire her quickly, Jayanti's laziness and love of sleep is no help either (Cool down 13 posts).
Social Status: In camp Jayanti is generally well-received, particularly with more relaxed and cheery campers but can be quite annoying at times so in some situations not so much. It can be said it is rather popular at the right time
Summer or Year Rounder: This is a more complicated question for Jayanti than most other campers. At the end of the Summer she intends on leaving but usually returns within the next couple months. Occasionally she returns home for a week or 2 if Chiron allows her to get away with it.
Years at Camp: 4
Life Before Camp
Jayanti was raised in Delhi with her father and, for most her life, her stepmother. Jayanti always knew who her mother was growing up and never really held and ill-will toward her. Jayanti was only 3 when her father married Riya, a childhood friend of his, leading to the woman becoming a big part of Jayanti's life. Although she never got the title Riya was always the mother figure in her life.

Growing up Jayanti's Dyslexia and ADHD that comes with being a demigod made school harder and more effort was needed on her part over the other kids. This got on her father's nerves slightly. Don't get me wrong, he was a great father, but he wanted his daughter to do well in everything she did so when most other student's grades were leaps and bounds ahead of hers he wasn't the most pleased father in the world. No matter what they tried, although it helped, it never really got her far enough to match other student's grades in the academic subjects. As she was so behind so many students she was often teased about her low grades and had few friends, that was until she learnt by poking fun at herself not only would the bullying become less dramatically but she would get more friends. By the end of that year she wasn't bullied so much but was the go-to student when you were blue. Some people wouldn't like such attention so quickly especially if it came from teasing themselves by Jayanti loved it and still does today.

It was when her 14th year was dawning upon her the Cyclops came. It was the quick thinking of Riya who, upon seeing the abnormally tall man with one eye, getting too close to Jayanti threw a stick at the Cyclops and dragged Jayanti inside before admitting she was one of the rare humans who could see through the mist, unknowing to them that Riya's gift was Iris' doing.

Only 5 days the small family got an 'anonymous' letter telling them about camp half-blood and that a satyr was set up to meet Jayanti in one week in New York. The family packed up and left on a 'holiday' to America. As Jayanti grew up learning both of Delhi's official primary languages (Hindu and English) there was and has not been a language barrier. She celebrated her 14th on the day she departed with the satyr and left her father and stepmother.

Since then Riya and Akash received their visa and moved to New York to be closer to Jayanti. Although Jayanti's primary place of residence is camp half-blood she owns an small apartment in New York her father insisted on getting her and will eave camp half-blood for a night or 2 every now and again, usually when only the year round campers are at camp. She hasn't been to Olympus but, instead, spends that time in New York with her family.

~Other~

Jayanti looked up at the climbing wall that stood only metres from her. It couldn't be that bad, right? It was just a climbing wall, if she didn't think about the rising lava she would be fine, right? Or her first experience with it. She shivered at thought of her first, and only, time on that damned wall. As the lava starting rising a 14-year-old Jay freaked and went tumbling down the pit. Luckily, one of the older campers was able to jump done and grab her before she became coal. She shivered once more, a chill running down her back. No. Never again would she go on that death trip. Four years older yet not four years later. The crazy campers could deal play with the wall but Jay and her lazy flax-wench was never going to consider that idea again. Contemplating why she ever thought even considering trying the climbing wall again would be fun Jayanti came to the conclusion she was tired and, completely contradicting her conclusion, she bounded back to the cabins for a well earned nap. Even if she didn't climb the death wish disguised as a training tool she did look at it and that was as good excuse as any.
