Personality: Nanshe loves science and wants to save the planet. She is very passionate about nature, psychology, social justice, and likes to slap feminist stickers everywhere she goes. She has a big binder full of stats and facts about the refugee crisis, quotes Simone de Beauvoir 24/7, and volunteers for WWF. She's head of the debate team at her school and calls her education her "social duty".
To others she comes off as bossy, always wanting to be in chage.
Apart from that she loves fish to death and has a big aquarium at home which she misses very much when she's at camp.
Flaws: pushy, talks too much, no sense of direction.
Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): Nanshe can communicate with venti. She is unaffected by southern storms and can endure hot weather better than most. On the other hand she's really sensitive to cold especially cold icy winds and wouldnae last as long as a normal person in a blizzard.
Through her mother she also has an affinity with water, can swim extremely well, understand sealife and remain underwater for hours.
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional):
- Creating fog. Nanshe can summon fog and mist, density depends on how much she concentrates. At its strongest people can no see further than a yard or so around them. She can hold it for 3 posts and needs 3 posts cool down.
- Controlling hot winds. Nanshe can summon hot winds. They aren't strong to blast anyone off their feet but if she uses it well she can get pebbles and similar small objects to fly off the ground. 3 posts, 3 posts cool down.
- Controlling venti. She can call upon up to 5 venti, during 3 posts with 3 posts cool down.
Through her mother she inherited a bit of water kinesis, ie she can control the equivalent of a kiddy pool filled with water. Her max is a 2m high wave. 3 posts hold, 3 posts cool down.
Life Before Camp*: Nanshe grew up in San Francisco, right outside Camp Jupiter. Her mother wanted her to have a normal childhood but also to remain close to the Legion in case something happened unexpectedly. So she went to school there, without knowing who she or her parents really were. There were incidents, times when a teacher was a bit off or an older kid looked at her strange. No one ever did anything - she'd learn later it was thanks to the amulet she carried, a coin-like pendant with the symbol of the goddess Securitas. Once she grew it stopped being as effective and her mother had had to sometimes "go take care of something" only to come back covered in dust and scratches. Nanshe just learned to roll with it when she saw her come home like that, and got pretty good at first aid stuff through that.
Her mother remained single and took up a job in the mortal world that paid decently. Nanshe never lacked anything but she also didnt go on holidays to Dubai. They lived modestly in a central apartment, had trouble with their bills and ate left overs at the end of the month.
Nanshe became interested in social and environmental stuff very quickly. She was a fairness freak, always wanted everyone to have the same as everyone, and couldn't bear to see animals suffer. Once she had access to the Internet, she'd often go online to post huge rants about the issues she saw. She had a few friends at school, but was never popular. In her early teens she spiralled into anorexia. She got out of it two years later only through the combined help of her family, a therapist, and a nutritionist. She's gained her weight back and even has a wee bit of chub on her but she doesnae mind anymore. She's healthy and that's what matters. When she turned fourteen, her mother saw fit to finally tell her the truth about who she was and sent her to the wolf house. Lupa trained and tested her before sending her to Camp Jupiter.
