hanson choi - apollo - HANSON LEVI MINOR REWRITE 1218fc6f63bff0b3ea27ecebdf1dc1e4

    >Basics
    + Name: Hanson Choi
    + Age: 18 (?)
    + Gender: Cis male
    + Sexuality: Bisexual
    + Eyes: Warm honey-brown
+ Hair: Dirty blond - gold in the light and almost brown in the dark
    + Height: 5' 10"
+ Skin tone: Pale enough for his skin to be described as "milky" by someone waxing poetic. No matter how long he's out in the sun, he doesn't burn - or tan for that matter.
    + Ethnicity: Korean-American (his mother's Korean-American, and I'm assuming godly genes don't really have a say here?)
+ Body structure: Lean, almost lanky, made of long, sharp lines
+ Other details: Face claim is Vernon from Seventeen
+ Place of birth: Incheon, South Korea
    + Mortal parent: Minju Choi
    + God parent: Apollo
+ Abilities: Hanson takes the artistic side of Apollo, being rather gifted in the fine arts. He's a dancer and a painter and, above all, a musician. He's usually got some sort of instrument on him (whether it be a kazoo or a guitar or a bandoneón). Strangely enough, he hates to sing when anyone's around, much preferring rap because of the low, almost husky quality of his voice (although if you were to catch him in the strawberry fields in a quiet moment, you might happen to hear him singing under his breath).
+ Powers: Other than the Apollo-child gift of being uncannily good at things musical, he has a special gift on the more medical side of Apollo gifts. If he's near anyone (say, a 3 foot radius) who's currently ill, he feels a kind of uneasiness - the strength of such depending on the severity of the illness. Also, if he touches said person, he can get a vague feeling for where the illness is concentrated.

    >Details
+ Personality: He used to be flirty, friendly, and easygoing, tossing smiles to strangers without a thought, pressing fleeting touches to shoulders and elbows carelessly, quick to forgive with a hug. For about a year after arriving at CHB, he was happy, until somewhere, something went wrong. He fell in and out of love with the same person, enduring terrible circumstances and going through traumatic experiences that changed him. He isn't exactly the friendly, easygoing boy of before. He tends to be quiet, somewhat drawn-back and reserved, although he does have sudden bursts of energy where he seems carefree, animated, and playful. If you manage to get close enough to him, however, underneath the flimsy façade, he's something of a cynic and a skeptic, world weary and wary of everyone.

+ Flaws: Hoo boy. Hanson's occasionally reckless when he's in a Mood, but mostly he's lazy and almost antisocial. He believes in very few things and, on a Bad Day, he could be classified a nihilist. Physically, he's just this side of too thin despite the muscle from being a dancer, and his lips are rather thin. He also tends to zone out a lot, which backfires when he's confused at having missed something in a conversation, and may make him seem inattentive.

+ History: Hanson was born in Incheon, but early in his life moved to and grew up in a little house in Flagstaff, Arizona with his mother, Minju, and two younger twin siblings, Bailey and Dylan. They were relatively poor (with a single mother and three children in a new country, it'd be hard not to be) and Hanson, as the eldest, felt the weight of responsibility. He juggled two jobs on top of his schooling (secretly, because otherwise Minju would feel extremely guilty). Still, he didn't let it get to him, and kept a smile on his face and a cheerful tune on his lips. He took care of his siblings (both only six years old next to his fourteen) as best as he could, and often it seemed that both Minju and Hanson were the twins' parents.

Unfortunately, their happy little bubble had to be pierced at some point. Minju received a letter home one day, saying that Hanson's grades were plummeting which was really just too sad, since he had so much potential and he'd received an offer to go to an exclusive, specialized school for the arts back in Korea but had turned it down. The ensuing argument had not been pretty, especially when Hanson lashed out (which was very strange, since he'd never once raised his voice at anyone). They got over it quickly enough, however, and life continued on as it had.

At fifteen, his life changed. He received a very large sum of money from a family member Minju had barely known, enough that his family was secure. They moved out of their little house, into a nicer one, but as Hanson began to unpack, Minju stopped him. She sat him down and told him of his parentage, and that she had always wanted to send him to Camp Half-Blood, but the opportunity had never come. Hanson respected his mother's wishes, and off he went to camp.

+ Notes: Having had studied Korean diligently (and with the advantage he'd had from his mother only speaking Korean at home), he is totally fluent in Korean as well as English.
