Council Of Cloven Elders

Grover handed her a can of soda, then folded the leaf and put it into a little bag hanging on his throne/chair.

Vlad walked into the council. "Hello?" he asked, his Londoner accent standing out against the noise of the forest. He held the letter out ready to hand over.

A satyr walked out from behind a tree a few yards from Vlad, holding an empty can of soda in one hand. He was chewing on the aluminum, glancing at the boy for a good minute before swallowing. "Well, hey there," he said, strolling towards him. "What's that?"

"Oh. Hey. Chiron sent me to give this to Grover," Vlad said. He showed him the letter. He sent a smile the satyr's way and let it wash away.

"Oh, I see.... He'll be here in a few minutes, I'm sure. In fact, he'll probably get here as soon as I finish this can." The satyr pointed to the shredded can in his hand -- in two more mouthfuls he'd be done with it. He took another bite of it and chewed it thoughtfully, looking around. No other satyrs or dryads in site.

"Where is everyone?" Vlad asked, looking around. "I remember that this place was actually quite busy when I was last at Camp..."

He glanced around and thought for a moment.

"Most of them are gone to go look for new demigods, most of the dryads went off to have a dance party or something further on in the forest." The satyr shrugged, taking a small mouthful of aluminum soda can. "These are some pretty bad times, though."

"Aren't they all?" Vlad offered. He wondered what the letter was about... He ignored the questions. "You wouldn't believe the monsters I encountered outside of camp..."

"Oh, so it's getting worse, huh?" The satyr swallowed the mouthful of aluminum, finally popping the rest of the soda can into his mouth. "Well, that's to be expected... There's probably a war brewing." He bleated, looking around the clearing. "I don't like wars. Too many satyrs and dryads dying. Like Silenus."

"Yeah," Vlad said. His watch beeped and he checked it. "Oh gods. I have to go meet Aleera."

Vlad handed the letter over. He waved. "Bye. I have to go. I have to tell someone I love her."

So he ran off.
