Life Before CHB*: Deric grew up in San Diego, California with his uncle. His uncle is a
multi-millionaire and was almost never home. He funded anything Deric
wanted to do, though. Deric was involved in band and fencing. He was
attacked by a monster and that triggered his realization that something
was wrong. He found his own way to camp and that's where he is now.
