    Prologue

    I, Amy, am a girl who is very determined, and I'm 14. I have foster parents who are very mean to me. They hit me a lot . I have a neighbor who is the same age as me. His name is Brandon. He also has foster parents that are mean to him, but don't hit him. This is my story.

    [size=24]~Chapter 1



    "I hate you!" I scream at my foster parents as they chase me up the stairs. I run in my room and lock the door. I always feel safe in my room on the second floor. I keep a fire ladder under my bed, in case i need to get out of the house.

    I take the fire ladder and throw it out the window. I climb down it, and run to my neighbor, Brandons house. His room is on the bottom floor, so i just crawl through the open window.

    "Hi!" I hear him say as I jump in his closet.

    "Why are you in my closet?"

    "Are they coming?"

    Brandon leans over from his desk to peer out the window. "Nope."

    "Thank goodness! They were really gonna get me that time."

    "What did you do?" Brandon asked me.

    "I just went outside and bumped a volleyball off the wall. ONCE!"

    "How do they hear through a brick wall?"

    "I don't know. All i know is they're gonna kill me once i get home."

    We hear pounding on his bedroom door. Brandon pushes me back in his closet and shuts the door. I was about to yell at him but i hear my foster mom, Cynthia, talking.

    "Have you seen Amy running around? Because earlier we told her we wanted to take her to dinner." LIES! I think to myself.
    I hope he knows she's lying.

    "No, i haven't. I'm sorry Mrs. Smith." I relax.

    "Ok well if you happen to see her, Give me a ring."

    "Don't worry." Brandon says smiling.

    I hear her heavy footsteps moving toward the door. The closet door opens. I was really scared, but than saw it was Brandon. A look of relief came across my face.

    "You're gonna have to face her soon, you know."

    "Yah I know just not 'til I'm way older."

    I go over to Brandon and give him a hug. "Good-bye."

    "Wait what?" He asks me like I'm an idiot.

    "I'm running away tonight. I have enough money. Never spent a cent of it because my parents wouldn't let me."

    "YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY! Are you crazy?!?"

    "If I'm crazy i would stay and get beat up....By my foster parents."

    "Fine just be careful."

    "Brandon, can you please come with me? I will need someone for company, and to help me. Please, Brandon please?"

    "No. I can't. I have to stay here."

    "Fine!" I say and crawl back out the window.


    Chapter 2


    As I'm packing my things, i hear someone come up the stairs. In a hurry i shove my things under the bed.

    "Amy. Time to eat. Get your butt down here NOW!" My dad Bob yells.

    "I'm not hungry." I yell back


    Please tell me what you think so far.





    ( Sorry this is all i could write for now because i have to go. the second chapter will be continued next time.)

    Chapter 2



    As I'm packing my things, i hear someone come up the stairs. In a hurry i shove my things under the bed.

    "Amy. Time to eat. Get your butt down here NOW!" My dad Bob yells.

    "I'm not hungry." I yell back

    "Well sit down with us anyways. We are a family."

    "It doesn't seem like it." I mutter to my self.

    I go downstairs anyways because its almost my last hour with them. Oh ya, sorry i forgot to mention i have an older brother and sister. My brother is 21, and my sister is 17. They do a lot of bad things and if i tell anyone what they do, they said they would kill me.

    As i sit down my mother pulls my chair away so i fall. And YES, my MOTHER!

    "HA HA HA HA HA HA!" Everyone laughs at me.

    i just sit down making sure my mother isn't there again. All i can think of is my devious plan for later.

    "So i hear you were a bad girl earlier and ran to your boyfriends house. WHAAAA! Your soo pathetic, you little nymph."

    "HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND RODGER! AND I AM NOT A NYMPH! I AM A HUMAN BEING UNLIKE YOU! ALL OF YOU! YOU ARE ALL LIKE MONSTERS OR SOMETHING." I scream.

    "Settle down crab!" My sister says to me.

    "I will never settle down until you guys treat me like family! i have had enough of all of your crap!" After that remark i run upstairs to my room and slam the door. My dad came up and tried to get in, but i locked the door.

    "GOOD! STAY THERE THE REST OF THE NIGHT!" My 'Foster Father' yells.

    "I WILL!"

    When i hear him downstairs laughing with everyone else, i safely start to pack my things again. I put all my money in my pocket, so i know no one will see it and try to take it.

    i leave my cell phone here so they can't track me. And with that i take the ladder, and once again throw it out the window. It's a cold summer night, but i don't care as long as I'm not with them. I begin my journey and climb down the ladder.

    When i get down i see something, or someone in the grass.

    Its Brandon!

    "I'm coming to i guess. Only because my parents hate me like always."

    I run over to him and give him a big hug!

    "Thanks for coming. I knew you would!"

    Sorry it's a short Chapter

    I'm interested to see where this is going. But, you said it's a fanfic. What is a fanfic of?

    Oddly enough I like the large font, but probably because your posts are nice and short. However, you might want to fix the coding in the first post.

    Ok thanks. I will try to work on that. And its a camp half blood fanfic. I'm not there yet though. Im trying to lead into it.

    ~Chapter 3

    By now it's really dark out. I look at my watch, it's 10:15, than at Brandon, asking him with my eyes what we should do.

    "We should go to the park instead of sitting here. All someone needs to do from your house is to look out the window and spot us." Brandon whispered.

    "Your right." I say.

    Brandon and i start walking toward the dark, long, and lonely street.

    One of the street lamps flicker and go out. Now it's hard to see the street. i remember something, and grab a flashlight out of my backpack.

    "There!" I say.

    "Shh. I hear someone behind us."

    I be quiet. The person is fast walking. I feel someone tug on my jacket and scream. It was Brandon. He flashed me an angry look. He motioned for me to follow him to take a different way.

    "I think we lost them." Brandon said with relief.

    "Why would you tug on my jacket? Why not just tap me."

    "I'm sorry, I didn't know you would scream."

    "It's fine, whatever. As long as we lost them. Who do you think it was?" I ask.

    "I don't know, but i could kind of see their face and it looked familiar."

    "Oh."

    "How about we go to a place with lots of people instead. Like a restaurant or something." Brandon suggests.

    "K. I'm hungry anyway because i didn't eat."

    "I need to ask you something kind of important since this was your plan."

    "OK." I say.

    "Where do you plan on going? I guess we can go out of state."

    "New York, of course. I've always wanted to go there." I say dreamily.

    "Thats a long way from Illinois. And is it because of those stupid Percy Jackson books and Camp Half Blood?" He says in a weird voice.

    "I know it is, and Percy Jackson's are not stupid books! They're very interesting. You should read them."

    "Fine. I will make a deal with you, OK?"

    "Whats the deal?" I ask.

    "If we make it to New york and find this 'Camp Half Blood' I will read them. I have always wanted to go to a fighting camp."

    "Deal. Also you have to be a son or daughter of a God. Just saying." I say. I have a feeling i am a half blood, and I know we will find Camp Half Blood.

    "OK. Let's just drop it for now, because I'm hungry. We will make a plan of how to get there while we eat. I also want to go New York just to see all the famous buildings." Brandon say in a happy mood.

    The smell of food brings me out of my daze. 'Yummy' I think to myself.

    Brandon leads me inside a food place and we sit down and eat.

    "I think I'm just going to order a burger i say to the waiter."

    "Would you like monsters with that?" The waiter says with a deep voice.

    "Monsters?" Brandon and i say at the same time.

    "What are you talking about, Monsters? I said a Milkshake. You people don't understand me." And with that he left.

    "That was weird." I say

    "Ya, ya it was." I hear a voice say behind me.

    I turn around and see no one behind me.

    "Do you wanna leave?" Brandon asks me in a hurry.

    "I guess, but why?"

    He's staring at something or someone behind me. I see what he's talking about.

    "Lets go!" I yell and both of us run out of the restaurant.

    ~Chapter 4



    As were running Brandon and I hear heavy feet behind us. I don’t look back because I’m afraid to see what it is. All of a sudden I’m on the ground. Everything is fuzzy and I can scarcely breathe. I feel someone pick me up (I think it’s Brandon) and put me on their back. Now I can see clearly and the thing is HUGE! It has a horn in the middle of its head and big red beady eyes.

    I jump off his back and both of us run into an alley.

    “What is that thing?” I whisper.

    “I have no clue. It’s really freaky though.” Brandon answers.

    “Do you still want to go to New York? Because I’m still up for it after this!”

    “Are you crazy? Look at already what we got ourselves into. We can’t go back nor go to New York.”

    “Why can’t we go to New York? It’s fine there!” I sort of scream.

    “If there is a thing as ‘Camp Half Blood’ don’t you think monsters would be like surrounding it?”
    I think to myself because Brandon does kind of have a point.

    “But when we get there, it’ll be safe. If a monster chased us, don’t you think we’re half bloods? That’s were half bloods are supposed to go- Camp Half Blood.”

    “I guess, but how do we get there with monsters following us?” Brandon says negatively.

    “We get swords, knives, and bow ‘n arrows.”
    “Ok. I know a place where we can get them. Al’s archery and swords.” He says sarcastically.

    I look down the block and see something that catches my eye. I have never been to this part of town before so it’s all different looking.

    “Hey! There is an archery and sword place. Not called what you said though.” I say in his face.

    “Where?” He asks like I’m wrong.

    I point with my flashlight. I’m right; there is a store for archery and swords.

    “I told you!” I say in his face again.

    We head over to the store and walk in. The only thing I can see is swords all over the walls and bows ‘n arrows in the middle.

    “What do you need, kids?” A man with black hair and little dark looking beady eyes asks us. He looks like he’s into war to me.

    “We would like two swords please.” Brandon answers.

    “Ok.” The man replies.

    He reaches for two swords all the way on the top. They look the sharpest of every sword.

    “Here you go. The sharpest ones I have. I think you’re goning to need them.”

    “Umm…..Thanks.” I answer

    Brandon and I leave to purchase train tickets to Indianapolis, Indiana.
    On the way I spot my sister (who’s not really my sister, just my foster parent’s daughter)

    “Alexis is here!” I warn Brandon.

    She is listening to her I pod and texting.

    “She’s getting on the same train as us. Just don’t let her see you.” Brandon tells me.

    We get on the train and sit all the way on the other end of the train- away from Alexis. Brandon hands me a sweatshirt from his backpack.

    “Here take this, and put the hood up so she doesn’t recognize you.” Brandon instructs me.

    I wonder what she’s doing here, I think to myself.

    “I think I know why she’s here!” I exclaim.

    “Why is she here than?” Brandon asks me.

    “She’s probably going to her boyfriend’s house. My dad nor mother like him, so she probably takes the train instead of walking.”

    “Maybe, we just need to focus on going to New York. I’d actually like to make it there alive!”

    “Ya, me to. We need a plan because of the monster. How about next time we see it; we kill it with our swords.” I suggest.

    “I don’t know if we’d be able to, but I guess we can try.”

    “Trust me, we will be able too.”

    I look out the window and see something. I tap Brandon and point.

    “We’re going to have a tough time getting off this train, aren’t we?” I say.

    When the train stopped, we looked out the window.

    "I don't see that monster thing anymore. Do you?" Brandon asked.

    "Nope, thank the Gods."

    We heard rumbling in the clouds.

    "Don't talk about the Gods." We heard a voice behind us say.

    "He reminds me of our gym teacher. Do you have any thoughts?"

    "He kind of does. Only a little cuter AND shorter." I replied.

    "That's because I am! Follow me!" Yelled the cute little guy.


    We followed him off the train and into the woods. It looked like he was galloping.

    "Hurry up! Do you want to be killed?"

    "NO!" We both cried in unison.

    "Well then hurry up!"

    We felt the ground shaking, and heard something behind us screech. My dream come true was turning into a night mare... Brandon knew I was scared, and he took my hand.

    "What was that for?" I ask.

    "I can tell when my best friend is scared, you know."

    "I guess ya. But I've been scared before, and you didn't take my hand."

    "Well this is different. We are like about to die, I guess."

    "Not if we make it through that gate." I exclaim and point.

    Before we reached the gate, a monster grabbed Brandon. I got so scared. But then my ‘gym teacher’ tossed me a shiny piece of metal. It was a Bronze sword!

    “Defeat the hydra, and then you will save Brandon.”

    “OK, but I have never handled one of these things before….”
    The hydra came at me and I screamed.

    “Aim for the heart area.” He instructs me.

    “I’m trying!”

    I cut off its head and more grew back.

    “Do not ever cut a hydras head off!”

    “OK, sorry!”

    I aim for its heart again. I didn’t even think it had one because it’s so bloody and tries to kill living things.

    My sword goes right through its heart area. It falls over and flows with the wind, as it turns to ashes.

    I remember Brandon, and go to find him. I can’t find him or my ‘gym teacher’.

    “BRANDON?” I scream over and over again.
    I start crying and throw myself on the ground. Brandon is nowhere to be found.



    I guess I must have passed out from crying so much. I woke up outside right where I had killed the hydra. Once again I felt alone, and lost, as I did when I was little.

    I get up and start walking around to look for Brandon again.

    When I passed the bushes I hear someone moaning. I go towards the sound. When I moved the bushes a baby dragon popped out. It was so cute, and I decided to keep it. I picked it up and it licked me. I still hear the moaning and move deeper into the forest.

    When I get to a set of fat trees I look behind them. I see Brandon laying there! I rush to him with the dragon.

    “BRANDON! Are you okay?” I start to cry with joy.

    “Ya I’m fine. My arms are just a little bloody. And where did you find that dragon?!”

    “It popped out of some bushes I was hitting. I decided to keep it. Is that OK?”

    “Ya I guess it’s fine. He’s so cute!”

    “OK. Let’s go to camp, and make it through the gates without another hydra on our tail.”

    “OK. Help me up please.” Brandon said.

    I help him up, and we go off to find the gates again.
