I walked into the Dionysus cabin. It was empty, everyone was probably at
the Halloween party. From the vampire I'd passed on the way here, apparently it was a costume dance. Luckily, I'd
brought my Star Trek uniform with me, the one Captain Kirk always wore.
I admit it, I'm a
geek. I bring a Star Trek uniform with me anytime I go on a trip. I go
to Sci-Fi conventions. I've watched every episode of just about every
Sci-Fi/Fantasy show there is.

I looked for an empty bunk, and found one. Judging by the stuff on it, the top bed was occupied. I sat down on the bottom bunk and laid my backpack and duffel-bag on the bed. I took out my Star Trek uniform, and The Complete DVD Collection of Jungle of Sorcery, the fantasy TV series my Mom had been in. It was my main connection to her. I looked at the picture on the front, Mom stood among the other members of the cast, wearing her character's signature long flowing robe, and leaning on a staff. She had a confident smile on her face, like she could face anything, and come out laughing. I sighed, and put the DVD case back in my bag. I picked up my costume, and left.

I walked back in, and dumped my camp clothes in a ball on my bed, then left for the party.

I woke up in the morning. I had a feeling that it was going to be a good day. I got out of bed, put my dagger and sword on, and wondered where Sue, my pet pigeon had gone to. I'd kinda forgotten about her the night before. I assumed she must have flown off to look for a nice place to roost.

i searched around my back pack and took a small heater out that was powered by a rechargeable battery and i cut it on putting it near tempest to dry her off.
