Jim's Lean-To

"That's impressive!" I said and got the food. I sat by the fire.

I put out the light since we could see now. "Yeah, but it tires me." I covered my mouth as I stifled a yawn. I smiled sleepily. "Thanks though." I handed him the sticks.

I put ithem in the fire. A very cold, bitter wind blew. I unrolled an extra sleeping bag for her next to my own and grinned

I shivered when the wind blew. Then I started to feel guilty for having him do all this. "You don't have to do all of this for me." I smiled shyly.

"Yeah but I want to," I give her a hug

I smiled at his kindness and warmth. I kissed his cheek and hugged him back.

I smiled and picked her up. I brought her over to the sleeping back and zipped it up. "Want me to bring you a s'more?

I felt small and safe whenever I was around Jim. I cuddled into the sleepingbag. "Yes, please." I smiled gently. "Thank you."

I kissed her cheek. I toasted a marshmallow and make her a s'more. I hand it to her.

I took a bite and my eyes widened. "Oh my gods, this is good!" I ate the rest of the s'more. When I was finished, I told Jim a memory I had. "Y'know, I only had a s'more once before. It was at school, back in the fourth grade, and my principal said he would give us s'mores and kiss a pig if we did good on a state test."

"Absolutely. The pig wasn't happy though. It squealed and landed in the custodian's trashcan." I laughed at the memory.

I smiled slyly. "Whatever shaves your lamb."

I tuck the edges in around her. "Are you warm enough?" I asked softly

I nodded. "Though I could be warmer..." I held out my arms for him to step into.

I shivered a little from the wind. It was proving to be a bitter night. I took her handand smiled.

I frowned. "You're cold. Take the blanket." I insisted. I felt his cheek. Ice cold.

"No, you keep it," I smiled and slid down next to her. "Still cold?"

I studied his face with narrow eyes. "If you freeze your butt off, I won't forgive you." I grumbled.

"At least have half of the blanket." I pleaded, pushing my eyebrows together. I felt bad for him. He did everything for me which would leave him probably frozen. "This isn't the Titanic," I said. "You have options." I jutted out my lower lip in a pout. "Please?"

"no, Demetri. I'm fine. Besides you're tucked in already. Besides, I live out here. If I can sleep through a snowstorm, I can deal with rain. Besides you're so cold, you're shivering. I can fell you,"

I sighed, exasperated. He won. "Fine." I clipped. I still looked at him worriedly, shivering slightly when a wind came in.
