An Icy Fear.... (Private, Bellion)

Lita walked into the arena, and twisted her ring, and Frost, her halberd sprang into view. She gave a temperature check on the area. about 87 degrees farenheit. Ah well, at least she didn't have slowed reflexes.

Terra walked into the arena, carrying her scythe with her. At first she felt really awkward, standing alone with her long-ranged weapon--it had been a long time since she used her scythe--but when her eyes caught Lita, she sighed in relief and walked towards her.

She hadn't known Lita for a quite long time, but she had memorized her face good enough to recognize her. With her blue eyes and blonde straight hair, she looked like a very cold warrior, waiting for anybody to challenge her to a fight. Feeling quite optimist and happy, she smiled at Lita, wondering if she could teach her some fighting tricks, since after all, Lita was much older than Terra.

"Hullo," she greeted Lita.

"Well met," Lita said. She rather hoped that Terra would be able to teach her some things, as Lita was in fact pretty new. "So... I've never really done much sparring. I guess... Lets just try some random stuff, see what works, I guess." She allowed her instincts to take over, and she started running towards Terra, Frost raised in the air to make a downward swing when she got close.

"Sure--" Terra said before she realized that Lita wasn't going to play slow and easy on her. Terra blinked for a few times and she side-stepped right when Lita made a swing with that scary, dangerous halberd of hers. One or two seconds late, and she would have another long scar on her arm. She readied her scythe and swung it at Lita's direction whilst watching carefully at her face, wondering if she could find her fear.

Lita went into autopilot, and jabbed the poleaxe blade into the ground, using it to polevault, the scythe blade missing her. Doing a spin in midair, the girl faced Terra, but focused on the rest of the body more. she observed that Terra was Fear-seeking...

It was quite disturbing to know that your strategies had been known by your enemy, really.

Terra grunted as the scythe missed Lita, but she almost let a bunch of Greek curses came out from her mouth when Lita looked at her with such an expression that almost made her want to hide in the bushes. Her scythe in defensive mode, Terra observed Lita's eyes. They were intense...but it seemed much more intense and harder than usual. Terra tried to breach through her mental barrier as she tried to know Lita's fear, but the barrier just became stronger. Terra lifted one of her brows up. Lita was really a quick learner--she had recognized that Terra was trying to find her phobia.

It wasn't good, but she still was impressed.

Terra walked carefully, determined to break Lita's attention to her fear-seeking...and in a second, she had run to Lita's direction, her scythe swinging around her dangerously.

Lita was surprised by that, but she still didn't let her mental guard down. As much mental abuse as she had gone through, he defenses were so strong, she could devote 75 percent of her energy to whatever, and still be able to keep her mind strong. So when the scythe came around, Lita went for a new strategy. She raised Frost, and intercepted the blade of the scythe, and then grabbed the pole arm by the wood, and concentrated.... frost started to creep along the handle of the scythe, ready to give Terra's hands some serious freezer burn when they reached her hands. In the meantime, she stared Terra down, tempting her to try and break her mental defences. A description of her mental walls were like so: Imagine a conrete wall. The wall had iron rods inside of it for added defense. Razor wire coated the top of it, and the entire thing was frozen solid with jagged ice crystals. In theory, one might be able to surpass the defenses, but it would definitely hurt them to do so, as a mental version of Lita herself also patrolled the walls, a pair of icy wings on her back to fly towards any mental probes...

Terra wasn’t expecting this to happen.

She dropped her scythe, but her hands had burned with frost already. Holding her hands and groaning with pain, Terra frowned. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Terra was supposed to be able to break into Lita’s mind and find out about her phobia. She was supposed to win the game. She was supposed to hold into her scythe until the end of the fight. This scenario, however, wasn’t in her mind at all. Everything did not go as smooth as things should do, in Terra’s perspective. Instead of finding Lita’s weakness, she got a burned hand instead! This was madness.

But Terra did smile. She was not expecting someone—anybody, even—to be able to resist her power, but Lita’s strength impressed her. Finally she’d found a worthy opponent. Firmly locking her eyes on Lita’s, she dug deeper, swarming Lita’s layer of protection with monsters and other dreadful things.

Lita didn't waste time letting the daughter of Phobos enter her mind. She was at the door, sure, but the door was covered in razor wire, conrete, and ice. Try me, her eyes dared the girl. Then she swept the poleax towards Terra's feet, intending to trip her. If she managed to do this, the match was over.

Terra and Lita were clearly doing a double fight right now.

In the real world, they were sparring and fighting and charging each other with weapons and powers, and inside Lita's mind--Lita's world, they were having a savage fight added by quite a fierce staring contest. Terra had to admit that Lita was in the upper hand, for she'd burned Terra's hands with her cold power and had set up a strong defense to protect her mind, but Terra didn't want to lose. She simply couldn't lose. She'd succeeded for countless times--why lose now? Terra closed her eyes and concentrated harder, aiming only at Lita’s mind.

It was a fatal mistake.

Terra forgot about the fight in the real world and accidentally let her guard down. She was so focused on her task to open Lita’s brain that she left her physical self weak, frail, defenseless...and she opened her eyes when Lita was 30 centimeters from her. She tried to avoid the downward attack, but it utterly failed, for she wasn’t prepared for it. The icy blade hit her feet and groaning hard, Terra tripped down, her face fell first onto the ground.

Lita came down, her foot in her opponent's back. growing a dagger out of pure ice, she gently pressed it to the girl's neck.

silence. it was all over.

Terra groaned as she felt the blade touching her neck. It was unbelievable! Utterly unbelievable! Someone had resisted her power...it was clearly the first time...and Terra finally felt the feelings of the ones who lost in battles. Her face was burning red because of shame, but she managed to say, 'Okay, okay, you win, Lita. You bloody win the fight."

Lita got up, and allowed herself a small smile as she offered her hand, open, to try and pick her back up. "You did good," she said, meaning to help her with her self esteem.

In her heart, Terra was furious. It was a disturbing fact that she lost this battle--it was her first time, in fact, since she didn't fight that much--but it was still embarrassing. A part of her brain wanted to just....stab Lita, but another part of her brain--the wise one--yelled at her. 'WHAT IN THE NAME OF PHOBOS ARE YOU THINKING?!', it said. Terra slapped herself mentally and forced a smile while she took Lita's hand.

"Er, thank you," she said, her face burning quite hard. "You are definitely a great fighter...but...um...well, I think I gotta go. See you later, Lita."

Terra turned and ran from the arena, partly in shame, but also partly happy, for now she could ask questions about fighting to Lita, since Lita had proved that she was, truly, an awesome fighter.

Lita gave her an odd look. what was that about..? She turned Frost back into a ring, and slipped it on her finger, the metal cold as always. Then she walked off, humming a random song by the Black Veil Brides
