The trip

Shrugging, Alcer quickly ate the doughnut before putting the remaining popsicles in the freezer. He then said "No thanks, I'm fine."

"Suit yourself"I shrugged and stadted eating."So. What are the plans for today?"I asked curiously

Shrugging, Alcer said "I guess we could explore, try to know where everything is. I have to check out the secret armory and forge to make a new crossbow and maybe a dagger or something."

"Okay. We also need to get food and clean up. This dust could make us asthmatic in a matter of days"I frowned and run my hand over the cupboards

Nodding, Alcer said "this place is so large, cleaning it could take months." Alcer then took a look around before his eyes slid to a stop at an address book onthe table. Opening it, ALcer said "These are the phone numbers of the mansion's previous maids, butlers, cooks, and gardeners."

"Don't be silly, I'll just clean up the rooms we'll use, the bedroom, the kitchen, maybe the living room and that's it. No need to bother those poor people."I laughed and ran a hand through my hair

Shrugging, Alcer said "Fine. First Thing's first, I really want to see the armory." Alcer then checked the map before walking down the hall in search for the door leading to the basement.

"Boys and their toys"I grumpled and rolled my eyes as I followed him."Fine then! The armory it is"

Alcer paused for a moment. "Did you just call me a boy toy?" Alcer asked with an incredulous look on his face. He then shook his head before finding the door. Opening it, he began the trek down the stone stairs.

"Wait, what?"I asked surprised as I followed him down the stairs."I believe you must check your ears, Alcy."

Shrugging, Alcr said "Well it is hard to hear your muttering." He then entered the basement which was very lare. He then walked over to a wall and began to search for what was described as a 'small stone cube-shaped tile'. He found a perfectly square tile that stuck out more than the others and pushed it, causing a stone passage to open up, leading downwards.

"Wow. Is your family in the mafia or something?"I laughedas I obserbed the servret passage."Or, were they, like, CIA agents? FBI? Undercover cops?!"

With a completely blank face, Alcer said "They ran a toy company." before heading down the passage, eventually reaching a room about thrice as large as the average cabin at camp. In the center of the room was a forge, with the walls lined with racks of weapons, several of them filled, and several boxes full of small pieces, such as springs, shards, and hilts of various weapons.

Frowning, I moved behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist as I placed my cheeck in the spot where his shoulder blades met."Alcer, what's wrong? You've been quite emotionless since we got here.... Empty. Is there anything you wish to talk about? I'm always here to listen"

Shaking his head to clear his mind, ALcer said "It's nothing. Just bad memories." He then walked over to one of the racks, absentmindedly inspecting a sword.

I sighed in frustration but decided not to give up. I pushed him against the corner and rested my palm on his cheeck."Hey. You can tell me, it's alright."I whispered softly and gave him a small, encouraging smile

Tensing, Alcer said "It's fine. Like I said, just memories." Alcer then backed away slightly, ashamed for pushing her away despite her attempts to help.

"Fine"I said and moved to look at some swords."Suit yourself"

Walking around the area, Alcer, heart full of regret, inspected the forging supplies and weapons. He cataloged the weapons, counting three bows, 85 Celestial Bronze arrows, 15 steel arrows, six Celestial Bronze daggers, four Celestial Bronze swords, 1 Celestial Bronze mace, 1 Celestial Bronze scythe, and a steel hunting knife. He became very confused at the quantity of weapons here. His mother, as far as he knew, was 100% human, so how did she get all of these, much ess see them as weapons due to the mist.

"She knew your father wasn't human though. She knew that only these would be able to protect you in time of need. And she knew that these are the only real defense against monsters. That explains the Celestial Bronze gate, window and door frames etc etc"I explained flatly, answering his unasked question

"I know but... How did she get so many? At most I have heard of mortal parents of demigods having a sword or two, but an entire armory? She must have had some demigod contacts or something. Probably a child of Hephaestus." Alcer said, muttering at the end.

"Or maybe it was your father."I shrugged and pulled a medium length sword out of its seat.

Nodding slightly at the possibility, Alcer then began to rummage through the forging supplies. He then pulled out several small metal casts, some chunks of Celestial Bronze, and some springs. he then got to work, beginning to melt down the metal and prepare the casts.

I stood there staring at him for a while before deciding to start working."I'll go get some food."I shouted to be heard over the noise, grabbed the map and left
