The Nightmare and The Dove

Bella looked at the guy with curiosity. "So, what is it like to be you?"

I say, "T-terrible... The n-nightmares..." He shudders and slowly begins to hug his knees

Bella went quiet for a moment before wrapping her arms around Derek awkwardly and hugging him.

I blush a deep shade of red and slowly begin to hug back

"It'll be alright." she said softly.

I say, "O-ok..." His blush didn't leave, and probably wouldn't for a while

Bella unwrapped her arms. "Sorry. When I get sympathetic, my hugging takes over."

I say, "I-Its OK..." He liked being hugged, it had been so long since he was. People were scared of him in his cabin, and things about him spread. It was hard for him to make friends, much less get hugged.

Bella smiled softly. "I'm glad." she said.

I say, "C-can you h-hug me again?"

Bella giggled before wrapping her arms around Derek and resting her head on his shoulder.

I smile and hug back. It felt nice for me to be hugged by someone.

"Do you ever get hugged?" Bella asked.

I say, "N-no..."

"Okay." she said, continuing to hug him.

I smile and hug back. I was blushing like crazy but it felt nice

"Well, I guess that makes me your hug buddy." Bella said calmly.

I say, "Really? That sounds so nice!"

"You're stuck with me." she said with a smile.

I say, "I am glad. Can you keep me awake so the nightmares don't come?"

"I'll try." she said.

I say, "Thank you!" Then he hugged her tighter

Bella smiles, happy she could help someone.

I smile but start to frown as I nearly passed out. I haven't slept in a week. I didn't want to fall asleep and deal with nightmares...

Bella went to wake him up, but hesitated. He seemed so tires.
