CARTER DEHAAN
son of
A P O L L O
Name: Carter Edward DeHaan
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Male
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Light brown
Height: 5"11 (1.80m)
Body Type: Tall and lanky, slim and athletic, however not very muscular.
Skin Color: Fair
Godly Parent: Apollo (Greek)
Mortal Parent: Ella DeHaan
Country of Origin: Scotland
Pets: None
Talents: Playing the following instruments: Violin, Guitar, Piano, French Horn, Drums. Being a son of Apollo, he is extremely musically talented and has picked up a lot of instruments in the past, and he learns them fairly quickly. Carter also sings, however he isn't very fond of dancing.
Weapon**: Bow & arrow. His arrows are celestial bronze, and he has a magical satchel of arrows (courtesy of the Hephaestus cabin) that never runs out of arrows. Ever.
Personality: Carter is exactly what you'd think a son of Apollo would be like. Laid-back, calm and always cracking a smile, Carter is an optimist who never fails to brighten up any room with his grin. He is approachable and extroverted - getting hyped and energized from socializing with others. He doesn't take many things seriously, and that may turn out to be one of his flaws. He tries his level best to stay calm in any situation. He's extremely loyal, but has a lot of pride in him. If he thinks he's right, then he's determined to prove he is - even when he isn't. When faced with a task, Carter may completely flunk it if he takes no interest in it, which is another one of his flaws. However, if he's passionate about something, he'll put his heart and soul into it. He isn't exactly very hard-working, and procrastinates a lot, but his intelligence and quick mind usually helps him find his way out of any situation.
Flaws: He doesn't take many things seriously, even when he should. He has a lot of pride in him, and if he thinks he's right, then he's determined to prove he is, even if he isn't. When faced with a task he isn't keen or interested in, he may decide to completely flunk it and give up. He isn't very hard-working, and most of the time, he tries to find the easy way out.
Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): Carter excels at archery and knife-throwing, as well as the arts.
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional): Vitakinesis (Healing). Carter, like most children of Apollo, is a natural healer. He can heal most minor/not too major cuts and wounds by singing hymns to his father. The worst injury he could heal quickly would be a sprained ankle, but that's about it. However, major injuries such as broken limbs or stab/bullet wounds would require a much more experienced and powerful healer. Carter isn't much of a healer. He is much more skilled and powerful when it comes to archery. (OOC: It would take Carter 3 more posts after he uses his healing abilities before he could use them again. Basically, three post cool down.)
Life Before Camp*: Born in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland, life was quite simple for Carter. He grew up as a musical prodigy, picking up instruments at the young age of six. His mother, Ella DeHaan, was a simple and caring woman who worked for a modelling agency. Carter was fairly popular at his school, and life was going great. He had nice friends, he was doing what he loved - music - and he had an incredibly amazing mother. However, things took a turn for the worst on a Thursday morning when Carter was at school. He was thirteen years old, and somehow, an empousa had found her way into his school and had tried to attack him. A satyr, who had been keeping an eye on Carter in his school, had rescued him. Soon after, he made his way to Camp Half Blood and was claimed at the age of thirteen.
RP Example*: His eyes flew open, the bustling noises of his siblings shuffling about in the cabin evident. Carter rubs his eyes, still feeling slightly groggy. He lifts his head up, and immediately, his forehead slams against the bunk above his. He curses under his breath, his Scottish accent prominent, as he rubs his forehead. I need to stop doing that, he says to himself. Carter runs a hand through his blonde hair, and manages to crawl out of bed. His siblings are already dressed - well, at least most of them - and he hasn't even showered yet. Hastily, he grabs his towel and supplies and makes a bee line for the showers.
