    life before camp half-blood:
cj had a pretty basic life up until she was ten years old. she went to a basic school, basic friends, and a basic lifestyle. all of her life as she knew it was flipped upside down when she was ten years old and got into a car accident with her father and brother. it was the dawn of the new year and cj's father was pretty hammered at his brother's yearly family party, but insisted on driving himself and his kids home. drunk driving is never a good idea, and cj and her brother calem knew that, but they were ten, what could they do to stop their dad? absolutely nothing. to put things shortly, cj's dad breezed past a turn and slammed right into the side of a parked van. he died on impact. thankfully, cj and calem were both in the back seat of the car and escaped from the accident without any serious injuries. having the thought process of a ten year old, cj thought that she would go to jail by being guilty by association with her father being drunk driving and all, so she forced herself and her brother to flee the scene; leaving her father's dead body to be discovered hours later. from there, cj and calem tried their best to live their life "on the run". cj took the lead, becoming extremely protective and controlling of her brother. he was all she had left, she couldn't lose him. she didn't have a mother. she had died a few hours after childbirth, or so cj was told. cj tried her best to avoid people, for to her, everybody was looking for her and brother, waiting to throw them into prison. for sixth months, the twin children of athena trekked across england, trying to get as far away from their home as possible. they lived off of river and rain water as well as food found in dumpsters. this was a very rough time in cj's life, always having to hide from people and looking over her brother. it during a nightly scavenge for food that the girl came across a flier advertising a cruise to and from america. this sounded too good to be true to cj. she and calem could sneak on the ship and start a new life in america, like the people she was taught about in history class. even better, the ship was departing the next day from the same city she and her brother were inhabiting at the moment! the next day, cj and calem woke up bright and early and managed to sneak on the ship once the crew went into town for breakfast. now all they had to do was hide out and once the cruise started, act natural.

luck being on their side, cj and calem arrived in america with no issues arising. they were never questioned as to who they were or who their parents were. at the ship's first stop in america, new york city, cj and calem departed from the ship and ran off into the concrete jungle. they were free! nobody would know anything about their father and how they were "guilty" of being in a car with him when the accident happened. their enjoyment of being free only lasted for a few hours, however. monsters over-run new york city, and cj and calem found that out pretty early on. almost right off the bat, the two were attacked by a hellhound. having no clue as to what the beast was,cj and calem ran as fast they could, trying to shake it off of their trail. thankfully, camp half-blood is in new york city, which meant that demigods often roamed the city's streets. the two kids were saved by an older girl, who took care of the hellhound with one simple swipe of her sword. from there, the girl told the twins to follow her to a safe haven. skeptical, cj didn't want to trust this girl, but they were strangers to the city, ten years old, and life pretty much couldn't get any more sucky. the demigod ended up bringing cj and calem to camp half-blood, where their true identity was found out. cj didn't like the idea of staying at a camp for the rest of her days, but where else did she have to go? at camp she was given clothes, unlimited food and drink, and shelter. the demigod really had no other option until she was older and able to get a job. even though she is now eighteen, cj still hasn't left camp just yet. the girl is never going to give up free food and a roof over her head, so she will stay until they kick her out.

    Okay, so

What childhood trauma did CJ suffer to assume that cops were evil and would arrest you for being in the same car as a drunk driver? How did they not get seriously injured in the accident? How did they get out of booster seats that 10 year olds should still be in? How did they survive without authorities noticing? Why did the entire crew of the cruise ship leave for breakfast when cruise ships have to have cafeterias? How did people not notice two little kids that didn't belong on the ship? How did someone kill a hellhound with one simple swipe? Camp Half-Blood is on Long Island Island, not in New York City.
