Re: The Lake
"No." I said firmly, now shaking straight down to my feet. I dug my fingers into the sand, hoping I didn't punch something. "My father did nothing. He helped me, but I left him alone, hoping I didn't hurt him as much as I'd hurt others. As for Hadrian, I'll let him live. I promised Athena that I wouldn't hurt anyone ever again and I am not letting that promise go."

Re: The Lake
My smile quickly turns into a frown. "No more killing? That must suck."

Re: The Lake
"Sucks like hell." I took my knife out of the sand and, hesistantly, turned my palm to the sky. I didn't intend to kill myself, so I held my knife to my sideways slantedwrist and cut a thin line.

Re: The Lake
" I don't think I could ever kill someone, I want to heal and help people live a better life, when you grow up in South Africa you will know what death and crime is. Especially if your not white in that country!" I say looking down

Re: The Lake
"Okay, not knowing how to use weapons?" Theo sounded incredulous. "Not only is that insanity in our world, but that's like walking around with a sign around your neck saying: DEFENSELESS DEMIGOD! PLEASE EAT ME!" He waved his hands for emphasis.

Re: The Lake
" being six feet tall, and African keeps threats away from me, but doing my research I should be good with a bow and arrows, but when I was younger my friends and I would fight with staff because that's all we had, so I consider a staff a toy, I flee, not kill."

Re: The Lake
"No," Theo said thoughtfully. "Anything can be used as a weapon. And with your strength and experience with one, you'd be pretty formidable. I'd see a Hephaestus kid if I were you to make a celestial one for you. One could inflict some major damage with something like that."

Re: The Lake
I decided to stay out of the argument. I just stood there and started skipping stones.

Re: The Lake
Since the guy wasn't replying, Theo picked up a rock and sent it skimming over the lake. It didn't go quite as far as Alex's though.

Re: The Lake
I look over at Theo. "You are throwing it wrong. You have to do it like this." I show him the correct motion with my hand, and the rock goes flying, skimming across the lake.

Re: The Lake
Theo tried again, mimicking her throw. It went farther this time, but still fell short.

"Oh, and just to let you know, it is always good to have a weapon." I say as I point at Axel.

"Like this?" Theo asked Alex, trying again to skip the stone and failing. He cursed under his breath.

Re: The Lake
I let out a laugh. "No, like this." I demonstrate the motion again. This time, the rock went about 10 skips

Re: The Lake
Theo liked to hear her laugh, and he would have bumbled it again just to hear it again, but he also wanted to get it right. This time, the stone skipped seven times before sinking, better than his previous which had only gone about three.

Re: The Lake
I look at Axel and say,"What are you, a hippie?" I take another stone and skip it. It goes about 8 skips before getting swallowed up by the water.

I laughed at the girl's hippie comment, grabbing my sides. "Hippie! I should've thought of that one!"

Re: The Lake
I smile at Mason. "But you didn't, I did." This was great, so far this week, I have had more people being nice to me than ever before. "Where is your rainbow jacket and weed?" I ask him, but this time I said it as a joke, not to be mean.

Re: The Lake
I shouldered the "hippie". "Seriously, dude." I said in a serious tone. "If the world only has war, what good his peace, bro? Like, man." I snickered at my own joke.

ooc: don't double post, please
bic: I looked up to see another face join the party. Heck, why not. "Hey! Come here for a sec!" I shouted, cupping my hands over my mouth as a makeshift megaphone.

Re: The Lake
Theo smirked. Hippies were so old school. He'd known a hippie once; she didn't last long. "If there isn't war, then there isn't peace," he commented. "And if there is only peace, then people will never learn the importance of conflict." Bending down, he picked up a stone and skipped it. "The two need each other to exist."
