I stared at him. "My friend, Apollo kid just like you, has a mother who burns down freakin' houses, a step father in the military who shoots and eats cats all the time, and a sister who apparently sets herself on fire. I ran away when I was about 10, killed some people, slept in some wierd places, ate the fabulous meal of Red Lobster leftovers for five years, then reached camp. Yet, people still talk to us." I shrugged.

I did not really feel like leaving and going to bed anymore. Instead I walk up to the guys and just listen in on the conversation. "Listen, when someone acts badly towards you, you just have to act badly towards them back. That's how I work. After you show them you aren't going to deal with it, they will stop."

Theo was unimpressed. "Killing's harder when you're blood relatives, I'll give you that. But if he was a jerk to you and everyone else, then might as well. Save someone else the bother."

I was glad Theo took my side. "Well if you hate him enough, then you will feel no guilt at all. I had to kill my own brother. He was a murderer. After he killed about 10 people, I stood up. I didn't want to do it, but I had to. We faced down, and I won. Stabbed him right in the heart. But to this day, I have no regrets. If I hadn't won, he would've just killed more and more people. I couldn't let that happen." Crap, just let out more of my past.

Theo took her hand, trying to tell her by the pressure of his fingers what he felt. "That took guts," he said, softly to her. Then to Mason, "What's done is done, and it'd be stupid to hunt your father down now, it should have been done years ago when the iron was hot. However, there's still that son of Ares who needs to pay." Theo's smile was cold. "I can help you there."
