'Took you long enough. What did you, stop for coffee?' I ask him. I look down the road to see a taxi approaching us. I hold my hand out as if I was saying, 'stop'. The taxi screeches to a stop. I climb in and hold the door open, waiting for Theo.

"Damn it," Theo snapped at the driver. "You trying to kill us?" He wasn't expecting an answer. "Yeah, there's an entrance there," he said with a nod. "The trouble is getting it to open. I think we need music for some reason."

"Sweet," Theo said with a nod. The cab screeched to a stop in front of central park and he was thrown against the seat in front of him. Theo muttered a few choice oaths before getting out, rubbing his head. He trotted around to the other side and opened the door for Sinder, casting the driver a very dark look indeed.

(sin) I step out of the car and hand the driver 29 dollars. It was all I had. With a grumble, he drives off, leaving me and Theo in a patch of smoke. 'Well, here we are.' I tell Theo.

Shakily, Theo walked up the hill. He placed his hand on the rough bark of the tree that used to be Thalia, heart heavy. He was scared. He hadn't been so scared since he'd been with Alex. Taking a deep breath, he tried to draw strength from the tree, but no. He was strong enough already. Bracing himself for what he was about to do, he walked down the hill and pushed the stolen car he'd nicked about a week ago out of the brush. Starting it, he drove away from camp, feeling deep down inside like he'd never come back.
