Re: Leaving
"I won't," I squeaked. I looked to them both, and once I determined them to be asleep, I finally let the tears flow.

Re: Leaving
Theo awoke to the sounds of one of the girls crying. He knew what Sinder sounded like and he could tell from the peacefully sleeping form closest to him that it had to be Eloise. "Hey, girlie," he said blearily, struggling upright and peering over at her. "You okay?"

Re: Leaving
"Fine," I snapped. Then said, softer: "Go back to sleep," I was too ashamed to have been caught crying to look at him.

Re: Leaving
"No, you're not fine," Theo said, both looking and sounding concerned. He looked at her anxiously. "Seriously, what's up?"

Re: Leaving
"None of your buissness," I said, sounding just a little irritated. I didn't mean to be mean, I just didn't want to talk. I stared out the window and said nothing.

"You're my friend," Theo said quietly, looking at her evenly. "So it is my business."

Re: Leaving
"I am fine," I said. "I promise. Its just... Been a long day," I said with a sigh. Finally after a moment of awkward silence, I turned to look at him. "I'm not ready to die," I said sadly.

Re: Leaving
The cab driver looks back at his passengers and slides open a pane of sound-proof glass that seperated them. 'Where to?' he asks the odd group. One was in tears, another was trying to comfort her, and the last was sound asleep. Was this a family that ran out of money or something? The cab driver thinks about this as he waits for a response.

Re: Leaving
"North," was all Theo replied. "We'll tell you when to stop." Why? Because he still had no idea and he always made up his plans along the way. Predictablity was not a part of how he lived his life.

I choked out a laugh. "North?" I ask. "North?" I chuckled a little bit to myself, thinking it comical that he had no idea where we were going except: north.

'Sorry man but my service only delivers to this part of the city. I can take you to Central Park though. You can probably find a long distance service there.' the driver explains as he starts to drive.

"Works for us," Theo said with a shrug. "Eloise, just shut up. I've never had an education."

Re: Leaving
Sinder wakes up in the middle of the trip from a, of course, nightmare. Her slumped body tenses up and she shoots straight up, almost hitting her head on the top of the cab. If she thought her other dreams were bad, she was extremely wrong. She didn't care if Eloise was watching, so she tries her best to lean onto Theo. He would know what she meant by her body language. Her eyes proclaimed her fear as she watched the road ahead.

Re: Leaving
I stared out the widow, a little hurt by his comment, but I didn't show it. I doubted that I was welcome. And the more I thought about it the more my thoughts were confirmed: they only wanted me here because they pitied me. I think I'd make my escape at the first gas station we stopped at, because we had to stop for gas.

Re: Leaving
When Sinder shot up so suddenly, Theo knew that something was wrong. It took him about one second to figure out from the look on her face that she had just woken from a nightmare, and that this one was something special. "Aw, Sin," he breathed softly, not wanting to raise his voice in the confined space. He slipped an arm around her, trying to offer her comfort, but unsure of how she would take it. "What happened, Beautiful?"

Re: Leaving
'Nothing.' Sinder lies to Theo. She didn't want Eloise to hear so she wouldn't get made fun of. She liked the girl, but she wasn't sure if she had really changed or just wanted to leave. Sinder felt little comfort in Theo's attempted embrace, but it was better than no comfort.

Re: Leaving
Theo understood that she didn't want to talk about it in front of Eloise, so he just kissed her cheek and whispered, "It's going to be okay." He hoped that he was right in that, because the last thing that thing that she needed was additional pain and suffering.

'I hope so.' Sinder whispers back, feeling a bit better. She was still frightened by the memory of the dream, but tries to think of other things.

"It will be," Theo promised her. He squeezed her shoulder lightly. "In the end, it always is."

Re: Leaving
I could feel the tension here. No, I wasn't wanted. Nope, not one bit. I stared out the window sadly, planning my escape, where I would go, and what I would do with what precious little time I had left.

I walk up the hill and find my bag. I pick it up and walk down the hill and into a cab that will take me to school. I leave the camp.

Sinder looks over to Eloise. Just fron the side of her head Sinder could see the distress on her face.'You okay?' she asks her, her voice soft and kind.

"Yes, yes," I nodded. "Just tired," and with that, I closed my eyes.
