    I walk further into the forest than where i would walk Zeus, I keep a grip on my dagger. I was warned there were monsters in these woods and i will not take any chances.

    Benita glanced at the newcomer from her place under a tree. It was a boy who looked unfriendly, he had his hand on a wicked-looking dagger. He was probably the type she'd be liable to avoid for his face was set in a permanent scowl. Looking at him, she guessed he was a son of Ares.

    Benita stiffed as he started walking towards her, but arranged her face into a neutral expression. What'd he do when she didn't answer him? If there was anything she knew about Ares kids, it was that they were easily angered.

    I raise an eyebrow. Her hand feels like she has never been in a fight before. "So... You been here long?"That could be one reason, if she has though, i have no idea why her hands would feel like that...

    Benita looked at him warily. She hadn't been here long, but she'd had more than her fill of attacks to make up for it. Camp or no camp, she could hold her own against nearly any opponent. She could tell from his eyes that he held her in contempt. She was left-handed, the reason for the lack of calluses on her right. Slowly, she shook his head. Definitely a son of Ares. He could probably break her arm with one twist and she tugged her hand out of his, groping in her pockets for the stump of pencil that she was knew was there.

    Benita shrugged as she gave up, the pencil just wasn't to be found. It'd gotten too small to be worth using anyway. Gesturing to her throat, she gave him a sorrowful look. It wasn't that she didn't like to talk, it was more that she couldn't talk.

    Benita mutely shook her head. All the other people she'd met had had exactly the same reaction to figuring out that she was mute. She was used to it by now, but it still hurt. Why did people have to blurt it out as soon as they discovered something? The hurt showed in her eyes, but she smiled anyway and shook her head. There was a pen in her back pocket and she pulled it out. Reaching up, she pulled down a leaf and wrote: Name's Benita. She pointed to him and raised an eyebrow, clearly asking for his.

    Benita couldn't help but grin. He looked uncomfortable, like he thought he'd just sounded dumb. He had, but she was used to the way people acted around her. One of the people she'd used to know had told her that she shouldn't have to be used to it, but she'd accepted her fate for what it was.

    Benita was disappointed, but she knew that a girl without a voice was uninteresting. She couldn't make conversation. The only thing she was good at was knife fighting and that wasn't exactly a talent that would keep people interested.
