The Deadly Forest

I look at his hand and smirk. "In your dreams." I chuckle and shadow travel out.

My breathing was heavy, as I grew tired from the long walk. This was my first time venturing this far in the forest. I stopped to take a break on a cool rock in the shade. I sipped from my canteen as I admired the natural beauty of the forest. I took out my CB knife, then my poison box. The box was a small maple chest that had an obsidian interior. I opened it, searching through the collection of vials all organized and packed tightly in the box. I finally found a vial with amber colored liquid in it. The label on it said "centaur blood based neuro-toxin, level 3". I poured a small amounton a blue cloth and rubbed the cloth on all sides of the blade. Just as I closed the poison box, I heard a branch crack. Immediately I went into a defense state. Then, I came up with an idea, I climbed a tall tree and sat quietly in a branch, about 25 ft up.

I caught my breath as a Chimera slowly shuffled through the brush. The lion head sniffed the ground as the serpent head slithered around the Chimera's leg. I contemplated jumping down for a sneak attack but then I thought to myself; this was the same beast that killed my fellow heroes before I came to camp. I had to make an appearance to this beast, so I would be the last thing it sees as it dies. I hopped down from the tree, landing behind the monster.

"hey, you stupid freak of a monster!" I yelled. Before it turned around I quickly slashed at it's tail. The Chimera spun around towards me, growling in anger. The serpent flailed wildly, biting itself as if it would make the pain go away. This gave me an idea. I rolled as a pillar of flame shot towards me. I glanced at the body of the monster, looking for a good area where the beast could bite itself. Bingo. The lower abdomen seemed perfect. I charged as fast as humanly possible towards the side of it, I dug my blade into his body, just above his leg. I stepped back hastily as to avoid the frenzy about to happen.

What happened next was very bloody. The Chimera roared in pain, as it reached backward and chewed up it's rear leg like a piranha on meat. It's muscles twitched, all of them flexing. Now all the veins of the beast exposes, I slit it's neck, jumping back to avoid the shower of blood. I admired the death of the beast. I turned, tears in my eyes. I left and sheathed my blade.

I laughed. "You sure have him trained well."

I laughed again. "Sorry Nylon, I'm taken." I kissed Randel's cheek and kept walking.

"Sure, I mean as long as you don't try to eat me or something." Red Riding Hood. I liked that.

"Uh, I don't think so," I said in attitude, then I laughed some more.

"Hello there. Nishhe to meet you. Say hello Lilith." Maeve slurred. Lilith's voice came out of Maeve's mouth: "Hello, person. I apologize for Maeve's behavior. She's drunk."

OOC: Lilith isn't a real person. She's Maeve's alter ego; when Lilith speaks, it's really Maeve doing Lilith's voice.
