Re: The Abandoned Observatory
I sigh. I dislike when people repeat my praise, it's so narcissistic. But I never ever saw a boy with this disgusting appearance that was capable of blushing. I make a thud with my jaw. "Hobbies? What do you mean? I like reading and... surviving. You?"

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
I walked in with Nick, scratching my head as I looked around. There were two other people here, maybe more, but they were talking between themselves. I looked at Nick and leaned towards him, whispering, "What now?"

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
"I like enjoying the simple things in life," Nigel said simply, letting her interpret whatever she would from that statement. Yes, watching the misery of others was a very simple thing. It was something you usually caused, but mostly observed. Nothing too extraneous about that, no, not at all.
He fiddled around with his cane a bit more. Why couldn't impressing women be as good as drenching a couple near the lake or the beach?
"What's your favorite book?" He asked, still trying to think of a worthy compliment.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
I squint. "What is simple nowadays?" My fingers start moving on the jeans. I like this boy, he knows what to ask. "I would say it's the collection of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. It's nice to know I was named after one of them." I give a kind pause. He may not like reading. "...You?"

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
Nigel wasn't aware of the presence of the two kids.
He looked into the eyes of Morella and thought for a moment. He read a lot when he was with his parents, but most of them were horribly boring... he did like the tragedies of Shakespeare, though, as Nigel was very cynical, or at least he classified himself as cynical.
"Although it's not one of Shakespeare's well known plays, I enjoy Titus Andronicus." He answered to her question, and then moved on to her first one.
"Simple, meaning I don't like to do too much stuff. I enjoy the smaller things in life." He smirked. This statement was true, even if it was a bit twisted.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
She wanted to know.
Would he lie just to get closer to the girl? Or would he just say the truth, that he liked the misery of others, and leave it there? What would he gain by staying with this girl? A friendship? He had no friends anyway, just merely allies until it was necessary to back stab them. So, no, there would be nearly zero benefits from talking to this girl. Or perhaps some unnoticeable benefit?
"I like making other people miserable," He told the truth. "Nothing brings more of a smile on my face than being able to make someone's life a mess. It feels great," He went on, smiling. There was no point in carrying conversation with this girl now that he told her he was 'evil' or whatever misconceptions others have.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
I loose a disgusted and fine chuckle, which sounds more like a groan. "Did you expect to scare me with this? In this camp full of psychopaths and maniacs, taking pleasure in making the lives of others despicable is normal. And you look normal, in my view." I notice the bullshit I said and blush in a conspicuous way. "Hm, sorry. Sometimes I speak without reflecting."

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
Nigel raised an eyebrow. Someone who considered him normal? This must be a very obvious mistake; even Nigel knew that making people miserable wasn't normal. But he would take her word for it, though a bit grudgingly. He noticed her blush, but payed no attention.
"Thank you, I guess." Nigel bowed slightly.
Perhaps there was a benefit of forging an alliance with this girl.
"Now that's cleared up, I too usually speak without thinking, but I do often think. Just, not when speaking." He smirked.

Oh.... well, okay then. That wasn't rude at all. Grumbling to myself, I shoved my hands into my jean pockets and left the observatory.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
WHAT?
Nigel was at first very confused. Never in his life had he received a hug. Not even from his parents. What, in the name of all that was logical, could be the reason for this?
Then he was angry. How dare she touch Nigel Charles Roy Mollod the third! She didn't even ask! She might mess up his over coat, or even his frilly cravat! Who did she think she was?
Then he felt a strange feeling. A feeling of acceptance. A nice, feeling that seemed to swell inside his chest. The closest he had to this feeling was the joy of tripping someone, embarrassing them, or making someone mad. The happy feeling he had when he did that. But this was exponentially greater.
Should he hug back?
You're a respectable man. Yes you should.
So Nigel hugged her back, just as tightly. He had no clue what he was doing, he just did it.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
I come back to my typical rationality and step back awkwardly. "Huh, sorry. I shouldn't hug you... I shouldn't even get close to you. I think. I'm going to leave." My face get of the color of pure blood and I start walking in the door's direction, slightly tilted back.

Re: The Abandoned Observatory
"Bye," Nigel waved to the girl leaving him. He felt mad now. She was just going to hug him and leave? That was it? What kind of fool was he to fall for that? And he hugged back. Ha, that's the sign of softness, he thought, becoming like his evil self again. Perhaps it was a perfect day to make someone's day miserable.
"I'll find Hammer, then go to the beach," He though, walking out of the observatory.
