Sparring

"So, this is it? A girl with armor too heavy for her? Ha, you make this too easy." Hammer commented. After that, he took the twig from his pocket, and let it turn into his signature 200 pound hammer. He took a battle stance.

"Well, girl, are you going to make the first move? I'm waiting." He taunted.

Zack waved at Morgan, not sure if she could see him or not. "Get him!" He cheered Morgan on.

"You're choosing the loosing side, Zack." Hammer yelled back. He looked at Morgan menancingly, ready to block a swing or leap to the side if he needed to.

I ignored Zachary; his presence shouldn't disturb me during this fight.
Neither did I do Hammer the honor of answering. I simply lifted my shield and spear, my legs a bit crooked so I could jump or run or whatever fast move could help me winning.

The sand was gnashing under my feet, but I kept steady up.

- Mólôn labe, I hissed, not sure he could hear me.

"You flatter me," Hammer said, then brought him hammer down with all the force he could. He arena floor broke, bringing up debris. What was left was a nice sized crater.

"Give up yet?" He smiled at her, admiring his own strength.

Zack sat silent. He knew Morgan wouldn't give up, that he was sure. But he didn't know whether or not Hammer would go easy on Morgan just because of her seeming the looser in this fight. He knew Morgan had the chance to beat the guy, though. Even if Hammer could make craters in the arena floor.

I spat at the ground.
You kidding me, guy? I thought. This is Sparta! We didn't give up back then in Thermopylae, though we knew we would die!
I straightened my spear and waited for him to do the first move, my military boots sinking deeper in the sand.

Hammer stood still for a moment, and swung his hammer horizontally at Morgan. He knew she would just move out of the way, but right now he just wanted to see her attack. He wanted to be impressed.

Zack watched the fight with interest, though he wished no one was fighting to begin with. He sighed and looked at Jet, who was looking at the fight also.

"Interested as well, huh?" He chuckled to the bird.

I dodged the blow by bending backwards so much my hair brushed the ground, but straightened up again fast.
Taking advantage that he had swung at me horizontally, holding his hammer over his shoulder and so would be a bit slow to gather the strength for another blow, I dashed quickly at his arm with my spear.

I knew my shield could parry the blow, but my arm couldn't take that much in. It would break beyond repair.

Not thinking much, I let my instincts lead me.
Rolling to the side, I jumped up at his left, and tried to punch him with my shield and stab him with the tip of my spear.

His mighty kick knocked me off my feet and I fell on the ground, but jumped back onto my feet quickly. Putting my shield over my head, I let my spear slide on it so I could stab him while protecting myself.

I hadn't the time to parry. The hammer came straight at my waist and if it hadn't been for the perturges of my armor, the bones's would have been smashed.
I landed in the sand, in a shadowy area, and the grains sticked to my face. Suddenly, I felt better. The earth plus the shadow - my mother, Hecate, was protecting me.
I straightened up and walked over to Hammer with determination. Quickly, my spear pretended to be dashing at his leg, but then I raised it so it would hit his shoulder.

Hammer had, in his arrogance, thought he had nearly won with that precise hit. She had landed on the ground- but he had forgot to consider what powers the others had. He would have blocked the stab, if it were coming for his leg, which he blocked, but realized too late that it was a feint. He took the stab to the shoulder. He had backed up a bit, but the stab was still moderate.

"Damn you," He said, now feeling serious is this fight. He threw his hammer at her now. It was now time for hand to hand. His hammer was hindering him at the moment. She could try and catch the hammer, to which she would fall under it's weight, and Hammer would have time for a nice uppercut punch. Or she could try and dodge it, which she could get on the floor, ready for hammer to kick.

I saw the heavy weapon fly towards me but stayed calm. I threw myself to the side and rolled onto my shield, getting up again. Raising my spear in threat, I took two steps back, and suddenly ran forwards in zigzag.
Taking advantage of my inrun, I stabbed my spear into the ground and lifted myself on it backwards so my feet would hit Hammer's chest, or, better, his face.

I hear footsteps behind me. I turn aroung=d to find a girl.

"Hi, Im Drew daughter of Aphrodite"

"Sure i guess"
