by honey 6/15/2012, 1:45 pmI pull in the tiny driveway. The house looks more like a cottage than anything, and that is absolutely fine with me. I yawn. "Right then," I mumble, rubbing my eyes. It had been a long drive here and I was tired. "D'you want to check it out, or do you want to go directly to the beach?" I ask Kataro.

I nod wordlessly. I unlock the door and my eyelids are already drooping by the time I get to my room. I drop my stuff on the hardwood floor and then collapse on the bed face-first, falling asleep as soon as I hit the bed.

I stand there awkwardly alone. She doesn't know that I developed insomnia. Oh well. I take out my iBird (Patent Pending), and plug in my ear buds. I listen to my favorite music for hours until she awakes.

I wake up after just about fifteen minutes, totally confused. I stare at Kataro, and then smile, remembering. "Hi. How long was I out?" I ask, yawning and rubbing my eyes.

I see her awaken and I pull the ear-buds out. "Only a couple of hours." I say. "Want some breakfast?"

"Breakfast?" I yelp, and check the digital alarm clock on the nightstand. "Oh my god I did not mean to be asleep for that long! You must have been so bored!" I reach over and ruffle his hair, then jump out of bed. "Let's go make breakfast then!"

"Uhh no." I walk into the kitchen and grab pancake mix. "I'm making breakfast, you're sitting down." I look at the back and grab the needed ingredients. I start mixing them together as needed.

"No I'm not." I scowl and get out the frying pan, heating it on the stove like I'm supposed to.

I smile on the inside. "Whatever." I add chocolate chips to the pancakes and finish them up.

"YES!" I cheer because of the chocolate chips. I take the bowl from Kataro and pour the batter onto the pan. Once they're done I distribute them equally--three for Kataro and three for me--on plates and arrange the table. "DEAR, BREAKFAST'S READY!" I trill jokingly as I slide into my chair eagerly.

A- I swallow down the seventh bite of pancake and gasp for air; I've been eating do fast. "I love it! Pancakes are always good." I giggle, then take another bite of pancake.

A- I stare at him, my mouth opening and closing wordlessly. "Er... Yeah. Sure. Thanks. I think." I blink furiously, confused, startled, lost, and shocked all at the same time. Being a daughter of Athena, I am really not used to not knowing things, and the emotion hits me harder than it would hit most people.

A- I quicken my pace to a trot, since I'm so small. You knew this would happen, didn't you, Alice? Or at least suspected it. I think to myself. A frown settles itself on my face without me noticing. Do I have feelings for Kataro? I don't think so... Unfortunately I probably do.

As we approach the building, I slow down and come to a stop in front of the building. I turn, facing Alice. "Look, about making things awkward back there, that whole prom thing was an impulse. It's just--" I start rambling on.. "I've been really lonely lately and I've never been to a prom before and probably never will and I knew you wouldn't want to do it but I asked anyway and.. I'm sorry."
