"I don't know..." Akins said. "Wait, I do feel more powerful... maybe... well, you see, when I defeated Khalid, the demon sorcerer, I had a battle with him in my mind. I collided with him and tried to grapple with him and throw him out of my mind. During that, our souls entwined, before I threw him away, and his soul destroyed itself as it had no viable host. Maybe some of his power rubbed off onto me, and a side effect of this is age-increase."
