Yes, she can control the vine and she can use it as a whip or wrap it around people to tie them up.

Can people escape the vine easily? It seems a little powerplay to let the vines just grab a person.

Yep, its cuttable and they can wiggle out she doesnt make it too tight

How thick is the vine? And I suggest you edit in the tree's size.... How many trees can she grow per day? Does she just point at a spot and the tree instantly sprouts there?
