The Amphitheater

Celine wanted to reply with "nice to meet you too," but that would sound quite weird because of her accent. "Are you unclaimed?" She asked and immediately repented. Young people didn't like to be called young. Neither did the old folks. Celine recognized that age was such a complicated thing.

"My mother is Hestia." Miranda replied. Hm... Miranda wondered how her mother was doing on Olympus at the moment. Heh, she was probably still sitting at her hearth. She was eager to see her again at trip to Olympus at the winter solstice.

Celine smiled weakly. She realized something. "Isn't Hestia a virgin goddess? So is Athena, but well. I exist." She wondered if that sounded offensive. She thought that she cared too much about how people reacted to her random comments. You should be a little more rude, Celine. Really.

OOC: Happy birthday, young man.

"Meh, they come out of a fireplace. Sounds weird, but it's true." Miranda stated taking her IPod out of her waistbag.

"That sounds better than coming out of a goddess' brain." In the deep of her mind, Celine couldn't imagine how a baby could just come out from fire. Maybe Austin could explain her, if he weren't dead. Eep, she needed to stop thinking about Austin. She decided to random change the subject. "How many songs you have in your iPod?" She suddenly asked, sounding uncomfortable.

"Well, I think it is pretty good since you can find a lot of stuff in a goddess' brain. Who's your godly parent?" Miranda asked her. "Quite a few. I listen to music a lot."

Celine sighed. "I'm not sure if I hinted before, but my mom is Athena. That's nothing you could guess, since I don't have blonde hair and grey eyes. I'm just breaking stereotypes."

"I've seen alot of Athena kids who don't have the usual. Did you get your hair and eye color from your dad?" Miranda asked

Celine hesitated. Everything that she knew about her dad was limited to old photos. He looked like her sister Morella. Celine felt quite abnormal even because of that. "I'm not sure. He died when I was a newborn. He was haemophiliac and he, well, cut himself." Celine said as she felt her eyes getting hot. She wouldn't cry in front of an unknown, not again.

Miranda nodded. Her sister had looked like her dad, but she died when Miranda was a small girl because of a monster. Miranda had found out that her dad had killed her step-mom and step-sister. Then, he hooked up with Miranda's mother, Hestia. Ugh, she wondered how her mother could bear such a terrible being.

That long moment of silence made Celine feel worse. "Are you okay?" She asked kindly, laying her hand on her knee.

OOC: It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who likes to fill the charries' life with a lot of death and drama.

OOC:I think you can put more into their history if you put death in it.

"Yeah! I'm totally fine." Miranda replied, forgetting about the moment of silence.

"Well, I'm not." Celine murmured, rubbing a tear.

OOC: DEATH, YAY!

"Er... If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your sister Morella?" Miranda asked her.

Celine shrugged. "She's spending the school year with my grandfather who sees through the mist. She may be fine. I guess I should go back to school, but it's too much risky at this moment. I'm dealing with internet courses." Celine couldn't forget about studying. She just couldn't. Books were better than people.

Miranda nodded. Interesting. Maybe it was worth talking to other people.

Celine felt the weight of silence again. The air seemed to be thinner, it was suddenly harder to breath. She would be forced to sketch a new subject. "How about you? How was your life before CHB?" She asked with genuine curiosity.

"Er... Fine." Miranda replied. She didn't want to tell anything else about her life before camp. It just made her shudder just thinking about it. Maybe she could tell her... "Well, after my mom left, my dad raised me kindly." Even her dad treated her well. Even though he was raper and a**hole. "It was kind of like that for a while until he took me to camp."

"It sounds nice. It was probably better than mine." Celine put a stray hair behind her ear, distracted, and giggled a little at the vacuum. She was too smart to believe in Miranda. If her life was really so simple and happy, she wouldn't hesitate that much. Celine wouldn't try booting information from her because she was a little bit sick of depressing stuff.

Miranda shook her head. Well, at least she didn't ask her what else happened. She probably noticed that she was lying. She is pretty smart too. She shrugged. "How was your's?"

Celine sighed, preparing herself for an unwanted chatter. "I grew up in an orphanage and nothing exceptional happened, unless when I survived to an attempt of choke when I was a baby. Like two years ago, a satyr brought me to CHB. Morella's life was pretty more interesting, but all I know is that she was forced by a monster to run away when she was 4. She thinks I'm too young to know anymore details." Celine sounded quite angry when she said the two last sentences. She liked to be considered mature.

Miranda nodded. She had noticed that she liked to be treated like a mature lady. Doesn't everyone? Unless they're pranksters. "I had basically the same kind of life you had."

"Well, it's better than a life full of violence and monster attacks." Celine said in a quite dispirited tone. She raised an eyebrow at Miranda. "I never met a child of Hestia before... Do you have any awesome power?"

"Not that I know of. Some kids have the power to manipulate fire since they're... Y'know. The children of the hearth." Miranda replied.

Celine nodded flighty, making effort to pay attention. "I used to know a son of Hepha-" She couldn't finish that sentence, and she didn't really want to.
