An excursion

Chase was walking with Aselyn stood on his feet. He made "rawr" noises and eventually, at the park, he let her go, tickling her and then letting her run off and play. He went over to Ophelia again. "It's too bad this ends tomorrow. I hate being away from her. Saturdays always go too quickly for me."

His smile wavered a little. "No. They don't. They grow up in the blink of an eye. I'll miss these days. Warm summer days in the park... Her being so happy... In the future, she's going to want answers. Why I'm not always there... She already cries when I leave..."

He was starting to tear up. He sniffed and raised a hand to his face. His shoulders shook a little. "I'm sorry. I..."

Chase swallowed and nodded. He smiled when she went over to Aselyn Rose and started playing with her. He leaned up against a tree and sighed as he watched Aselyn insist they play scientist. His little girl... She had his streak for knowledge.

He looked around a little and his smile disappear when he saw a face he didn't want to see again for quite some time. Bonnie. Aselyn's mother. She was sat on a park bench, watching him. Sat beside a guy. Chase felt sick. He didn't know what to do.

" So Aselyn, whens your birthday " She asked curiously. She absentmindly made a daisy chain crown for Aselyn.

"December 20th," Aselyn grinned. "Daddy says his is a month after it."

Chase walked over to the two. "What are we doing?" he asked.

"Chase?" Bonnie called over, approaching.

Chase flinched and twitched. It was obvious he was trying to compose himself. "Hello, Bonnie. How have you been?"

"Fine. Is this my Aselyn Rose?" Bonnie asked as Aselyn hid behind Ophelia shyly.

"Yes."

Bonnie narrowed her eyes at Ophelia. Then she softened. "I'm glad you found someone new. Take care of her."

And with that, she left. Chase watched after her, confused. "Is that... Is that all?!" he demanded. He looked at Ophelia. "Stay here. Don't look for me unless I'm not back in ten minutes."

He ran over to another part of the park. Minutes past and Aselyn clung to Ophelia. Six minutes... Eight... Where was he?

Ophelia looked around, " Don't Worry Aselyn, He won't leave us " She said comfortingly

Ten minutes. He wasn't back. Eleven. Still no sign. He had said to go looking for him if he wans't back in ten minutes. Thirteen... Fifteen...

"Daddy's not back..." Aselyn whispered.

Aselyn nodded and took her hand. She clung to Ophelia's clothes. It wasn't long tilthey found him. Parts of his clothes were ripped and he lay on the ground, unconscious.

OOC: Let me explain. He didn't want to scare Aselyn and couldn't control his anger. His anger sets off his powers and his powers can put him into unconsciousness. He's in a four day coma. Plottage is fun.

Ophelia stared in horror, " Aselyn honey, why don't you go sit on that bench while I help your father, don't worry He'll be fine " She said calmly. She gently propped him up against a wall and poured some nectar into his mouth. She stared in shock, she had no clue what to do now

Chase stayed the way he was.

"Daddy tells me to call 911 if he doesn't wake up," said the little girl solemnly.

She nodded " Can you be a big girl and call them " She said handing the girl her phone

Aselyn nodded and dialed. She put the phone to her ear. "My daddy won't wake up... The park... New York... Central Park... Daddy's friend is here with me... By some big trees all huddled together... Aselyn... OK..."

She hung up.

Aselyn smiled. "Thank you," she said politely. She sat on her knees next to Ophelia and waited for the paramedics. When they came, she stood next to Ophelia. They packed him up and Aselyn tugged Ophelia to follow them.

Chase was placed inside an ambulance. Ophelia was asked to go in with him, Aselyn couldn't go alone and she had gotten in with her father. The little girl looked at Ophelia curiously. Aselyn was calm. As if this were normal. In actual fact, she just knew what to do. Stay calm and do what you're told from this point... her father had told her.

Aselyn had decided that Ophelia was the person she'd cling to. She liked Ophelia. "Daddy says be brave when this happens," she told her.

Soon, they arrived at the hospital. Chase was diagnosed as comatose. Aselyn's grandparents were contacted to take the little girl home. Meanwhile, Ophelia and Aselyn were welcome to wait by his bedside.

She smilled and hugged the little girl. She stared at Chase, unconcious, her stomach flipped with an unknown emotion.
