"Um... What the hell?" I asked as the blood drained from my face. "Chris! I'm only fifteen, I can't get married!" I explained flabbergasted. "I mean, Chris, don't get me wrong. I love you more than life... but marriage? Aren't we a bit young? Aren't we rushing into this too fast?" I asked him. "I'm sorry this probably wasn't what you were hoping for, but for now, my answer is no." I told him and knelt down next to him and kissed him, "Ask me again in five or six years, and I promise I'll say yes."

"Chris... I love you. But not enough to marry you. Not yet." I told him, gripping his hand tightly. "I'm just not old enough to make that kind of commitment. I love you, I really do... But I'm just not ready." I said staring down at the sand. "Look. I know this probably isn't going the way you hoped for, but I'll tell you what," I said and removed a small silver chain from around my neck, I turned to him and carefully took the ring, and fed the chain through it. I placed the necklace back around my neck and smiled. "I'll hold on to it, I'll wear it on this necklace until the day I am ready, as a promise. In five or six years, I'm yours." I said and rested my head on his shoulder.
