Spitting into the ocean water, Maya watched longingly as her saliva turned to ice as soon as it hit the water. Despite her nature, Maya giggled. She wasn't your typical Khione child, of course. Nothing about Maya was typical. Her small frame, her soft features, even her curses were nothing but normal. She was different even under demigod standards.
The subtle sound of feet walking along the sand behind her startled Maya and the girl jumped. Turning around, though her vision was impaled by the sun's sharp rays, Maya gawked at a handsome boy. He looked barely older than her, but he was hot. Most likely, Maya assumed, he was a son of one of the "lover boy" gods. Those gods created beautiful babies.
"Hey you," Maya greeted warmly, adding a small, friendly wave.
