Zephyros Creek - Page 17 Empty Re: Zephyros Creek

Post by Jordan 2/17/2013, 4:02 pm

Neryssa sighed, glad she had stumbled across this treasure. The water on her skin was beginning to evaporate , she was afraid she'd suffocate and die if she didn't find a source of water quickly. The sea nymph dropped her trident on the banks and sank to her knees, hungrily reaching for the water. She cupped her hands and splashed the clear liquid on her face, feeling energy return to her limbs. The Nereid sighed and rolled into the clear water, feeling the chill run over her pale arms and face. She sat up in the creek feeling much more energized. Not as much as she would like, but fresh water was better than nothing. She cupped her hands and brought some of the liquid to her lips, quenching her parched throat. She stood again, her hair began to coil again now that she had doused herself in water. She sat next to her weapon and let the stream run over her ankles. She would need to remember to bring more sea water with her on her journeys to the forest. She looked around her and huffed. Trees as far as the eye could see. Neryssa could sense the sea a far distance away but couldn't find specifics. The sky above her was gray, but the air was relatively dry, what a shame. She wished this land could be as habitable as the sea.

A soft gust of wind was playing between the tree's branches, making them shiver.
Jana Kay had finished archery training, and had felt the urge to go into the forest.
Unlike some demigods at Camp, she loved the forest. She didn't care for the monsters; she came here because it made her feel extraordinarily good. The young girl wondered wether it was because Demeter was her mother.
As she casually walked between the trees, she couldn't help but marvel at the thickness of the trunks, the big knotted roots, the deep green shade of the leafs and the beauty of the rich earth beneath her feet. It made her feel like she was back in the forest near her village, back there in England.
Jana Kay was heading for a small creek that was in the east of the forest. It was well hidden behind a row of thick bushes; the blonde girl liked to go there because the water was very clear and there were several blueberry bushes she had made grow herself. It had been fun, she remembered, but the blue stains on her hands and sometimes on her clothes were difficult to wash off.
The fourteen-year-old was wearing a pair of yellow Street One trousers with a blue shirt and a pair of Chuck Taylor's of different colors: the left shoe was blue whereas the right one was green. She liked mixing her clothes up like that. Her hair was braided and she had put a small white rose in it, at the top of the braid.
She finally arrived at the creek. As she made for the blueberry bush, she heard a splashing behind her.
She turned around, three blueberries in her hand, and saw a young girl, older than her With a shock, she recognized a Nereid.
What was she doing here, so far away from the ocean?
The Nereid was extremely pretty, she thought, with luxurious hair and a shiny skin. Her features were very regular, and she had the timeless, natural beauty all nymphs possessed. She looked between 17 and 20 years old, whereas she must be much, much older.
Jana Kay stood up and bowed to her.
"Lady of the Ocean, it's an honour," she said with a genuine smile. "How did you manage it to come until here, so far away from your source of life?"
She knew most nymphs couldn't go further than some fifty meters from their life source. The worst were Limniads, the flower nymphs: they had only twenty-five meters range. If they went further, they would die.

Mason wandered around the woods, a cool gust of wind blowing through the trees. It made a slight whistle, the sound echoing throughout the forest. He shivered, spotting the creek ahead. He jumped on top of the rocks, sticking his hand in the water. He splashed some on his face, washing the dirt and mud off of his face. He sighed, laying back against a rock.

Mitchell was sitting in a tree enjoying the warmth of the sun, for it was pretty damn chilly out. His rest was interrupted by something splashing, not the creek's constant hum of water flowing, but something that was made by a creature. The boy's head was instantly geared for battle and he looks down, forming a small bolt of lightning in his hand. He didn't trust anyone or anything. To him, everything was hostile.

Mitchell looks to down to see that it was not a monster or anything of the sorts, but a boy. The boy looked about to be his own age. He was thin and lanky and had hair as black as a midnight sky. He appeared to have the same as idea as Mitchell, for he was lying against a rock, looking relaxed.

Mitchell moves back a little so that his back was up against the tree's trunk, but he kept his eyes on the boy.

Mason closed his eyes, the sun rising up a bit. It shined right on him, the heat overcoming him. He sighed with relief, positioning himself into a comfortable position. He opened his eyes again, a weird feeling in his stomach. You know that feeling you get, when you suspect that someone was watching you? Well, that's exactly what Mason felt right now. His hand quavered over to his sheath, grasping the leather handle of his celsetial bronze sword. He exhaled, the feeling sinking away. He relaxed his hand a bit, putting it back at his side. He glanced around some more, the feeling still a bit there. He closed his eyes once again.

The guy had taken a slight notice to Mitchell. It was best if he moved to a different position now. He silently climbs down the tree, then quickly moves behind the boy to a large rock that could easily hide the son of Thor's body. He continues to watch the boy and sees that he reaches for his sword that was at his side in a scabbard. Mitchell takes this as a threat and enlarges the ball of swirling electricity in his hand, but by too much. His hand starts crackling loudly, giving away the fact that he was there.

"Crap," he mutters under his breath as he looks for another place to retreat to, but his eyes fall upon none. This could end quite badly for him.

Mason heard a crackle, his eyes quickly opening. He took out his sword, the bronze gleaming in the sunlight. He shot up to his feet, looking around. He heard the crackling stop, but did not relax. He closed his eyes, sensing a fear in the area. Drowning. He smiled as he put the image of drowning, water filling the person's lungs, in Mitchell's mind. He opened up his eyes, feeling a bit weaker.

Mitchell was about to move to a different location when it struck. He had no idea what was happening. He felt an extreme sense of fear rush over him. That's when he started feeling it for real though. Water. Water everywhere. There was no escape for it either. It was all around him and reached up to the clouds. Where had it all came from?

The boy couldn't couldn't breathe, even though in reality he was fine. That didn't stop his reactions though. In reality he couldn't breath either, but that was because of what he was experiencing. How could it be possible? Had he fell asleep? Was this all just a nightmare? Wait, a nightmare. That's what this was. It wasn't real. It was all in his mind.

Once the truth hit him, the experience stopped. He was fine, but his lungs felt as if they were on fire from the lack of oxygen. He rises up to his feet and looks around at his surroundings.

"Where are you hiding?" he yells out, his hoarse voice projecting from his vocal cords as if he was an officer in the military yelling at a soldier.

Mason heard a shout, and he reached inside of his sleeve. He felt the familiar handles of his emergency throwing knives. He stuck 2 in between his fingers. He wanted to use his power again, as the experience was so intense. But he couldn't. What if it was just some little kid? He couldn't explain to Chiron that he killed someone just for making some noise. He lowered his sword, by didn't let go of it. "Hello? Who's out there?" He yelled out, voice quavering.

Mitchell hears fear in the boy's voice. Or at least it sounded like fear; it could be a trap. Mitchell didn't trust him. He walks out from behind the rock, a ball of lightning in each hand. He spots the boy and his eyes flash to the two throwing knives held in his hand.

"What are you going to do with them? Cut a steak?" Mitchell taunts him. We wanted revenge, and he planned on getting it.

Neryssa looked up from the flowing stream to see a girl break free from the underbrush. She scurried around a blueberry bush plucking a few of the berries from their home. Neryssa stood, disturbing the tranquil water and catching the attention of the blonde girl. Neryssa studied the girl's face, she wasn't particularly pretty, but had a natural beauty about her. Like a lush field of corn or wheat. The patch of tentacles that adorned the Nereid's crown coiled around her angular face. Ugh. What a greeting... she wasn't royalty... she was a simple, scavenging creature of the sea. Neryssa shook her head. She would prefer not to speak out of the water, first impressions were very important, and having the voice of a demon on land didn't exactly impress people. "Don't be so formal, seriously dude, I'm not royalty, or old..." She said, cringing at the harsh tone the air gave to her voice. She'd have to take the girl swimming sometime to make up for it... Neryssa tapped her finger to her chin, thinking about this. "Before I leave the sea, take a container of it with me, and continuously coat myself with it... maybe that's it?" She wondered, she had never really tested herself... the farthest she had ever gone was to the Mess Hall, and even then she had felt a tad weak. But all water was connected in someway, maybe that was it? She shrugged it off and sat on a large rock along the water's edge. "So what do you call yourself?" She asked curiously, adjusting the dripping blue t-shirt that was wrapped around her torso.

Her casual way of speaking surprised Jana Kay. The last Nereid she had encountered was a queen-mannered lady, so she had thought that this time, she could be formal and polite.
But she was glad the Nereid reacted like this, she was surely a nice person.
The blonde girl sat on a nearby rock. She didn't dare to sit down on the same rock as the nymph, because first off it would have been impolite and second, weird. They didn't know each other, and physical closeness was, she knew, an important factor in a conversation: too close was dangerous and impolite whereas too far... well, there wouldn't be any conversation at all.
"Jana Kay Robertson," the blonde girl replied with a broad smile. "And you?"

A cruel smile spreads across Mitchell's face. He could tell the kid was somewhat scared just by looking at his face. He didn't think the boy had the guts to hit him, so he spreads his arms out as if showing submission.

'Hit me, it'll be the last thing you'll do,' he says, his eyes glinting with amusement.

He did I little spin, causing a great amount of momentum against the second knife, sending it towards him like a speeding bullet. He pulled 2 more from his sleeves, holding the handle's firmly in his hands.

As soon as he saw the boy's arm move, Mitchell dropped to the ground. The knives soared over his head and stuck into the ground behind him.

"You're going to have to do better than that," he growls as he launches both the balls of electricity towards the boy.

Mason grumbled, holding the handles firmly in his hand. He closed his eyes, and dropped the knives. He grabbed the handle of his sword, and deflected both balls of electricity. Mason opened his eyes, a crimson black glowing coldly from them. He felt a strange tug in the back of his neck, releasing half of his energy. Water flowed everywhere. He made it more realistic, as if there actually WAS water there. He blinked more, power completely flowing out of him. He began to sweat, his knees wiggling a bit.

Even though he knew it was fake, Mitchell still felt torrents of water rushing all around him. The water engulfed him, making it impossible to breathe, well, if this wasn't a vision. Mitchell knew what he had to do. He had to embrace the water to get rid of the fear. It was hard for him to do, but he relaxes his body and lets the water swallow him.

His vision shattered like glass. He could see normally now. There was no water anymore, except for the creek. He sees the boy, who was looking quite strained.

"Having issues?" he asks him with a grin.

Mason regained his strength a bit. His vision got a bit glared, but he lifted up his sword. He charged towards Mitchell, slicing upwards toward his face. He felt the handles of the trusty knives, and slipped them out of his sleeves. The blades flew from his fingertips, towards Mitchell's stomach.

In less than three seconds, Mitchell had a sword slashed at his face and two knifes soaring towards his stomach. He valued his head more than his stomach though. A stab wound to the intestine he could take, but he couldn't live without a head. That was quite essential to his survival.

The son of Thor tries to deflect the blow of the sword by dashing to the right. The sword still clipped his ear and he could feel blood rushing out of the fresh cut. It wasn't anything too serious though. Now the two knives speeding at him, they were an issue. He had no time for thinking, for his attacker was relentless. If Mitchell could get a good shot though, the tables could be turned. All he needed was an opening, but he was to busy trying to dodge everything that came at him.

Mitchell had years of training, but he wasn't a reflex god. He manages to drop to the ground to avoid the knife that was aimed higher than the other thrown one. The bottom one, he couldn't dodge. There wasn't enough time. It plunges into his shoulder with a sickening 'thump!'. The pain was immediate. It rushed through his arm and neck. He had to be stronger than it though. He had to fight the pain. He wasn't about to let his attacker kill him without putting up a fight. It wasn't in his nature to surrender.

In less than two seconds, Mitchell comes up with a plan. It was risky, but worth a try. He quickly clutches at the knifes in his shoulder and lets out a cry of pain that was half fake. He drops onto his side and curls into a loose ball.

'Please. Please don't hurt me. I promise I won't ever go near you ever again! I'll leave you alone! Just please, I don't want to die. Can you at least find the kindness in your heart to bring me to the infirmary? I promise I'll leave you alone forever!' the boy cries out, trying to make his voice sound as pathetic as possible. Hopefully everything would go according to his plan. If not, well he truly was going to die.

Pathetic. This kid was pathetic. He didn't know that one wasn't supposed to show mercy in battle. If your enemy is hurt, put him out of his misery, don't help him. Dumb kid....

'Help me up. I should be able to walk at least,' Mitchell says, trying his best to sound weak. Hopefully the kid wouldn't suspect anything. There might be some real action then.

Mason, a bit skeptical now, looked at his shoulder. He wasn't any Apollo kid, but it wasn't that major. Not major enough to not be able to get up. His hand instantly went in his sleeve, another throwing knife in his fingers. He kept his hands in his sleeve, just in case something happened. He wrapped one arm around Mitchell, and helped him up to his feet. "You alright?" He asked, glancing in his sword's direction. Maybe if he could get close enough, he could finish this guy off...

Everything had been executed perfectly so far for Mitchell. All according to plan. This kid was to stupid to even see that even with trying Mitchell sucked at acting pathetic. Sure, it was in his voice, but not in his looks. He didn't look in pain or anything. Probabaly because he wasn't even hurt. The boy had thrown throwing knives at him, not swords. Mitchell always made sure to wear a bulletproof jacket under his shirt. It wasn't comfortable, but it made him more protected and looking more jacked. He had been lucky though. The blade of the knife had just barely hit the vest instead of his skin. It was a good thing this kid didn't have deadly good accuracy like how he did. It was a shame that he would have to probabaly kill him. He could teach him hos to get better aim. Oh well...

The instant Mitchell felt the boy touch his body, Mitchell pulsed as hard as he could. Hopefully the boy wouldn't see it coming and let go. Things could get pretty ugly id that happened.

Mason helped the boy up, getting him to his feet. He instantly let go of him, taking the advantage of Mitchell shocking him away. He smiled weakly, glancing at his shoulder. I don't even see blood..... Mason glanced up at Mitchell's face. He doesn't look like he's in too much pain. He'll be fine. Mason stood up straighter, eyeing Mitchell's shoulder. "I should get going.... He quickly ran over to his sword, grasping the leather handle tightly. He turned around, making sure Mitchell wouldn't do anything stupid. Then, slowly at first, he began to stroll towards the cabins. After a couple of seconds of that, he went into a jog, then a sprint. He had to get out of there. That kid looked pretty...well, tough. Probably vengeful. Mason looked back, still spotting the boy. He stopped moving, turning his body around. It seemed a bit cowardly to walk out of a fight like this. He ran back, sword still in hand. The job isn't done yet Mason. He said to himself, tackling Mitchell.
