She looked nervous, but tried to move on. James decided not to push the subject anymore, "Yeah he knows. He went to go take shelter from the curse of his powers, poor guy." Seriously, James couldn't understand how anyone could live through that much hell for some powers. James saw another opportunity for conversation.

"Do you have any powers, being the goddess of the high and mighty war goddess?" He teased her. He began to subconsciously swing his working leg.

James laughed too, "Same here, except for even more awesome fighting skills and a better strategic mind. being the son of goddess of victory does that to you."

"Enough talk about who is better, though it is obviously me. We should go out and do something instead of sit in your barrack all day." James tried standing up and temporarily forgot about his unresponsive leg. He fell flat on his face and struggled up cursing, "That didn't happen." He leaned on the edge of the bedpost and picked up his crutches. He put them under his armpits and leaned forward, "So, where to?"

I smiled and helped him up before grabbing my jacket."Somewhere with no stairs and flat roads"I laughed and opened the door for him.

"Stairs do suck on crutches," James agreed. He worked his way over to the door and leaned against the frame, "Any place you can think of?"

James leaned back on his crutches and stood at the top of the stair. As Annabel ran down the stairs, he felt a twinge of annoyance. "You just have to show off, don't you?" James struggled his way down the steps one, at a time. When he reached the bottom, he had to rest a minute to regain his breath. "How about the mess hall? Almost dying sure makes you hungry."

"Try being a cripple. Then we will see how much energy you have." James stood up strait, a half smile appeared on his face. He started down the road and stumbled on a loose rock. Miraculously, he managed to stable himself. Why did life have to be so hard with one leg?

I closely inspected the crutches."These are for trash.Throw them away and support yourself on me.Walking will help your leg too."I instructed and nodded to myself

"I would be walking except I can't move my right leg at all." James sighed, yet he still threw the crutches next to the barrack wall. He hobbled his way over to Annabel's side and put his right hand on her shoulder. "Hope you know what you are saying."

Hesitantly, James took weight off of his left leg and put it onto his right. He immediately stumbled and would have fallen if he didn't have Annabel for support. "I don't think it is ready for weight yet."

"I'm guessing you want me to fall on my face a lot." James grinned, straightening himself up. His right leg hurt, which was good and bad. Good because he could feel it, which meant blood was flowing to it. Bad because it hurt, a lot. "Well, it's starting to hurt. Huzzah, I might get to use it soon."

"Well I am sorry I got sick, almost died, and lost the control on my leg." James laughed. "You know I was feeling fine before I met you. I think your my bad luck." James couldn't remember the last time he actually spoke to someone like this, besides Devlin.

When she untied the cloth, James fell to the ground. "What is in that cloth?" He asked sitting up. Blood started to run through the stitches in his chest. "Whatever it is can I have it back now?"

"You could have told me that before you took it." He ran a hand across his forehead . So the blue wristband was the luck Devlin had gave him, no wonder it radiated so much power. That much power would really make Devlin's life hell for the next few days. "Let's just go get some food."
