Ha, deep? She could see it now: David mournfully staring up at the moon like he was in some stupid coming-of-age movie. "Well, I hope so; I've already seen too much teenage angst around here, I don't want to deal with yours too."

"Everyone. We're all teenagers here, you think the hormones are gonna chill because we're the kids of gods?" Small existential crisis, bah. What could possibly make David so uncharacteristically insecure?

She laughed, folding her arms over her chest as a gentle breeze tickled her face. "Living in some ghost town in Kansas with my mom and sisters, probably planning to run far, far away. Can't stand being in one place for too long if there's nothing there. You?"

Ah, classic David -- always with a flair for the dramatic. Stella brushed some hair out of her eyes and commented wryly, "So maybe you'll be a wandering runner like Forrest Gump -- that is what happened in the movie, right? Only less tragic. Maybe."

"Ah, well, you seem like the broody wanderer type. But anyway -- we should watch that movie together in the cabin sometime, maybe pull an all-nighter, max volume so nobody gets any sleep, throw popcorn at Gabe's head." Demititan movie night? Hell yeah.

"Sounds like you want to provoke a fight in the cabin," David said while laughing quietly. "Sounds like a plan."

Vanessa walks into the beach, the sand under her feet, the sun on her hair.

Vanessa looked around at the desolate beach. Nobody was really around. Boy have things changed.

Gabriel flopped onto his back and started right into the sun.

Vanessa walked over to the boy staring into the sky. "The hell are you even doing? "

"Trying to blind myself and slip into the everlasting grip of death," Gabe responded, not blinking.

Vanessa snorted. "You need any assistance there bud?"

"Just stay out of the sunlight, b*tch "

Vanessa smirked. "Language sweetheart. There are children around."

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "I do not give one single f*** about children. I just want to die, so get out of my sunlight, b*tch"

"Life isn't too bad if you get over your pretentious little a**."
