Time for Judgement

Alia appeared. Tears poured down her face. She couldn't cry loudly- the knife in her neck and screaming damaged her vocal cords. She tried to remember all the good times she'd had- skating at Rockefeller Center, kissing Crow- but it didn't help. She was dead. She waited in the line to judgement. She told herself she would get in Elysium, but the way she died wasn't very heroic. She hoped her past actions would help her chances, but it wasn't likely.

"Next." The Judge called, the boredom in his voice quite apparent. He peered down over his desk and glanced back at his big book of the dead. "Carly Jenkins, am I correct?"

I look up still smiling yet crying, and I say " yes sir, that's me"

"Alright let's see here... How exactly did you die?" The judge asked, folding his hands together. He looked down at her through bored and tired eyes.

"Hmmmm." Minos sighed. "Not particularly heroic... nor do you deserve punishment for it." He grumbled writing the cause in his records. "Asphodel." He murmured waving his hand dismissively.

"umm sir I was wondering could I get reborn?" I asked

"Hm?" Minos asked slightly surprised, "Well... I supposed that would be fine. You'll want to find the River Lethe. Drink from the water, and you will forget everything from this life. Drink the water and let the goddess take you." Minos said mysteriously, he stopped and seemed bored once again, "She's to your right."

I nod, in a slight curtsy and say " thank you" then I walk slowly to the river

Alia started sweating, seeing the girl get judged.

"And you." Minos sighed, glancing at the girl. "What is you name? How did you die?" He said leaning forward on his desk, preparing his pen.

Alia stepped up. "I'm Alia la Boredeux, and I was stabbed by my boyfriend's alter ego."

"Oh yes, here you are." He grumbled writing a check next to her name. "His... alter ego?" Minos asked peering at her from behind a set of reading glasses.

Alia smirked. "He's a son of Mania, and he has a different guy inside of him that kind of makes him bonkers. It's- it's hard to explain."

"Huh. So not very heroic at all..." Minos mumbled glancing at his papers. "Asphodel." He sighed and waved his hand dismissively so he could continue with his boring job.

She nodded and walked away glumly.

Kay and Kel floated in, laughing and giggling.

"Whoa...." Key said "Are we in the underworld?"

"Did we die?" Kay asked.

They looked around, and winced at the sight of the judge up ahead.
