Getting Started

Luna Jiang was an interesting character. Daughter of Aescalapius, she was a healer. She was able to heal all sorts of injuries, big or small. Everything from cuts to scrapes to broken bones and everything in between. But there was one thing she simply could not heal: her eyes.

When she was only three years old, an accident robbed Luna of her eyesight forever. No matter what she did, nothing would restore her vision. She was left alone, in the dark, forever. And she was bitter. At her family, at the Fates, at herself.

Thirteen years after the incident, 16-year-old Luna had taught herself how to function just as well - if not better than a normal human. Her hyperactive sense of sound gave her better accuracy than most people and she had worked hard to become a skilled warrior. She, however, bore a cure: the vture eyes. Her once beautiful purple eyes had long since been replaced by hideous, pale blue ones. She was forever marred by her weakness. People were frightened of her appearance; sometimes, children would cry. So she wore a long strip of coarse cloth tied tightly over her eyes.

Now, she was elegantly slashing at a dumbie with a long, thin sword. She heard someone approaching, but chose to ignore it.

Luna's powerful ears twitched slightly. "A spar? Hm... Why not. I haven't had a good spar in a long time," she said calmly, the corners of her mouth twitching up ever so slightly. She turned around slowly, revealing the thick strip of cloth that was wrapped tightly around her eyes. "No powers. I haven't got anything useful to use in the battlefield, anyways,"

Luna's eyebrows twitched. "Why would I need to see you? My hearing is superior," She replied calmly.

OOC Desolate her? How exactly does one desolate someone?

BIC Luna smirked inwardly. He was so loud! She took the required ten steps back and raised her blade.

Luna sidestepped easily. "Predictable,"

The way he swung his blade was so coon. She'd heard it a dozen times. She took a step back and avoided the blade. "You're awfully loud, you know. Are you new? You're very predictable. You must be new,"

OOC: Sorry for what happened in chat!

BIC:"Ya, I'm new" John grumbled, trying to launch another strike at the girl. "My name's John by the way." John said while they fought.

"Good for you. You want a sticker?" Luna asked sarcastically. She immediately regretted the decision when she felt blood running down her cheek: a nice deep cut. She slashed at what she believed to be his shoulder.

Luna was easily disarmed an heard her sword clatter to the ground somewhere off in the distance. She grabbed it quickly (sound was just as powerful as sigh) and aimed a few quick jabs at what she assumed to be his thigh.

Her jabs hit him in the thigh every-time. He fell down, panting. Blood pouring out of the wounds, he fell starting to lay down.

OOC: DONT LET ME DIEEE!

Behind the cloth, Luna rolled her sightless eyes. "Good lord." She sighed, annoyed. She knelt down and began to heal the wounds. By the end of the process, she was breathing rather heavily from exhaustion.

"Healing," Luna started. "That's my curse," her voice was dangerously calm, practically dripping with ice. She ignored the thanks: it meant nothing to her. He was new; of course her powers would amaze him. But time would pass and he would grow used to healing magic and other such powers. He'd get injured and come to the infirmary for her to heal him and she would: that was her job. And as time would go on, he'd take her powers -all the healer's powers- for granted. He would stop asking- begging her to heal him, and start demanding it. He would forget his thanks all together and she would fade into the background. That was her life, and that was her fate. And what could she do about it?

Luna picked up her sword and went back to methodically slashing at the dumbies. "Next time," she told him, her back turned. "Don't go easy on me. Because I will not go easy on you,"

OOC That was short xD sorry for Luna's bitterness. That's just the way she is. Perhaps I should've chosen someone more upbeat? Perhaps Amber would've been better
