Just a bit of sparring.

I raised an eyebrow in question."Everyone gains weight, it's human nature"

Saking his head, Alcer said "It is a metaphor. Most of the weight I gain, If ay, burns right off."

I rolled my eyes at him."Show off"I muttered

Smirking, Alcer said "Anyways, what was this 'field-trip' that you talked about?"

"Someone discovered an abandoned monster nest and we went there to examine it, take samples, find out about how the monsters live"I shrugged and laid down, resting my head on my crossed arms."Boooooooriiiiiiiiing"

Nodding, Alcer then said "IF we are going to talk, why don't we move somewhere else. If not... Let's get back to what we were doing." Alcer said, acknowledging the stray arrows merely feet away from them.

"Whatever you want, I'm fine with both possibilities. I have to inform you, though, I know nothing about archery"I said thoughtfully

Grinning, Alcer said "Well, I guess I'll have to teach you then. You never know when you might need it."

I shrugged and jumped up."Sounds fun. Come on, move!"I demanded and grasped his hand, trying to pull him up

Nodding, Alcer stood up and began to walk towards the Archery Targets. He saw several practice bow on a rack nearby, and said "Pick one."

I grabbed a random one but, as I held it in front of me, realised it was almost as big as I was."Uh, is this one okay?"I asked awkwardly and pointed it at him

When Alcer saw the bow, he stared at Christine in disbelief. He then shook his head and picked up a smaller bow, swapping it with the one Christine picked up. "FIrst thing's first, show me how you would normally think to shoot an arrow at the moment.

I laughed nervously and nodded thankfully as I grabbed the new bow. Following his request, I stood with my arms extended in front of me, trying to copy the stance of the Apollo kids when they practiced at the archery range

Shaking his head, Alcer stepped closer to Christine, gently turning her body slightly to the side and shifting her legs slightly apart. "Now try." Alcer said.

"Right... I knew that"I grinned apologetically and grabbed an arrow from the floor."Uh, how do I do this again?"

Alcer stepped close to Christine, guiding her arms into the correct position. He then took the arrow and linked it onto the bowstring. "Now you just pull back the string and then release it."

"Kay..."I took a deep breathe and did as he told me to. Pulled back the string and realeased the arrow. Only, it didn't go exactly as planned. Somehow the arrow ended up stuck from the ceiling. I took a step back and lowered the bow."Was that supposed to happen?"I asked Alcer

Shaking his head, Alcer then said "Try to aim... forwards this time..."

"But I did! I aimed straight! Right there!"I whined and pointed at the arrow target

"It is easy to aim an arrow straight. I never said straight, I said forwards. Try again." Alcer said, handing her another arrow.

I grumpled and muttered but took the arrow, repositioning myself and aiming carefully. This time the arrow was found at the back wall. "Well, that was an improvement! It was forward this time"

"Yes, it was a large improvement. However, in safety matters, you have an F." Alcer said, pointing at the 11 year-old who had an arrow lodged in the wall next to his head. Christine's arrow to be specific.

I blushed deeply and shot an apologetic smile to the terrified kid before returning my eyes on Alcer."You know what? I'll stick to the sword."

Laughing, Alcer said "Good idea. I suck at teaching anyways. So what now?" Alcer asked, setting the bow Christine was holding off to the side.

I took the bow from the floor and put it back in it's place before retreving the arrow from the wall. Finding I couldn't reach the one on the ceiling, I turned to Alcer."Well, no one's hurt, most of the equipment is back in it's place, so we can do whatever you like."
