He pulled his jacket sleeve down to cover his scar completely. Basil looked up into the sky the color was brilliant he loved it really. He had been trying to quit his smoking habit for half a year and hasn't succeeded yet. Basil's bright eyes squinted and he smiled only faintly. He sits down in the soft sand setting his ukulele in his lap. He tilts his head up and leans back onto his elbows his sneakers digging into the sand. The faint smile on his lips slowly spreading. If only there were other homo-sapiens Basil could communicate with at the moment. He took another long draw from his cigarette letting the smoke fill his lungs before exhaling and filling the air.

Lee hopped on the beach to the tune of a hip hop song, wearing a hoodie and old denim shorts, walking in skater sneakers. Her hoodie was covering her messy pixie cut hair, casting a light set of shadows on the Native American girl's face.

Basil looked up at over to the girl that had just came onto the beach. He took another short draw of his cigarette before putting it out and squishing it with his sneaker. He bit his lip then smiled at the girl extending his hand towards her, "Hello?"

Lee turned around and gave the guy a once-over. Hey, wasn't he that Demeter kid? Basil? "Sup," she said, shaking his hand.

Basil smiled brightly, "Nothing much, I'm Basil Lee, it's nice to meet you." His eyes twinkled and his hand slowly shook as he craved another cigarette even though he had just finished one.

Lee blinked. "Basil Lee? Dude your last name is my first name. I'm Lee Sherwood." She looked at him again, damn he was hot.

Basil smiled and laughed, "well this is coincidental isn't it. So what brings you down to the beach?" he tapped his ukulele lightly rhythmically.

Basil looked down at his ukulele, "Oh this? I grew up in Hawaii for the first five years of my life. Then moved to Vermont."

"Sounds fun. Never been to Hawaii." Lee always dreamed of traveling but her family's finances forbid that. "Is it as picturesque as the images I see on Google?"

Basil slightly nodded, "mostly some places aren't as beautiful, not nearly as beautiful as you," Basil winked at her and laughed.

"Woooo," Lee wriggled her eyebrows. Damn, was he hitting on her? He totally was. There again all Lee knew from dating were the couples in her high school, this was the first time it actually somewhat happened to her. "So how's your day going?" she said, adopting a jokingly flirtatious face à la Flynn Rider, though in her inner, she was totally digging this.

Basil sighed slightly, "I've been very bored." he felt around in his pockets of his jacket looking for his cigarettes and zippo. Finding it he took one out and lit it putting the cancer stick between his lips.

"How can you be bored? I mean, this is a camp for demigods. We get to climb lava-spewing walls and sculpt stuff with a flamethrower, how much cooler could it get?" Lee asked.

Basil shrugged taking a draw of his cigarette he flicked some ashes off the tip and coughed while exhaling, "its not as fun when you don't have anyone to do it with."

"Damn. Could've taught me. I'm crap at everything that doesn't involve skateboards, break dance and climbing. Also thieving." With that, she tossed Basil the drachma she had stolen from his pocket a minute ago and gave him her signature crooked grin. "Liked it? Should've put a ring on it."
