by moriarty 5/19/2015, 9:59 pmHawthorn emerged from her home in the, well, hawthorn tree. She had just finished a book on human anatomy, and she wanted to talk to someone about it. The book was long-winded and full of medical jargon, so Hawthorn didn't understand much in it. As far as she was concerned, normal mortals could stay away. Demigods were a whole different story, with powers and only one parent's DNA, they were only, truly, half human. Hawthorn wandered around the courtyard for a while, but it seemed everyone was out (or in) doing something productive.

It was nice weathered today, which was a first since it has been bad weather all week. It finally made Kylie want to stretch and leave the comfort of her little home. She's been reading all week and she's finished and re-finished most of the books in her house ad she's been bored. What she needed most is someone to talk to.
the sad part was that there was pretty much no one to talk to. All of her siblings and cousins and friends were out doing something, leaving her alone with nothing to do. Her journal was the only thing keeping her sane at the moment, as she scribbled drawings and thoughts down at an inhumanly rate.

Hawthorn sat down with her book outside her home. She opened it up and started from the beginning, still fascinated with human anatomy. The first chapter was all about the cardiovascular system. The heart was cool, but all the blood was very strange to her. Hawthorn just kept on reading, her eyes glued to the page.

Seconds turned into minutes of Kylie doodling endlessly, filling each page with small notes and drawings. Some varied of a nicely detailed flower or colorful rainbow tree. A little leaf fell in the corner of the book as she flipped the pages fast, making a little slideshow of a dancing leaf. It actually looked nice to her, letting a nice smile grace her face. Smaller things like this get to her sometimes.
Minutes passed and Kylie could notice the girl-wait no, she looked more like a nymph- out've the corner of her eye. The nymph looked engrossed in her book as well, just like Kylie. It actually surprised the old dryad some most of her cousins and friends didn't care that much for reading. How unique and strange. Still she chose not to make any conversation, in the case the nymph would be annoyed with her for interrupting her reading.
