Take the blue pill? (Ha, get it? lt involves medicine, choices and it's a movie reference...l'll shut up)

Jax hated the infirmary. It was the only totally unfun place at camp, which said a lot. Camp's synonym was fun in his opinion after all. Or maybe not. Nah, it probably was... he mentally sighed. He hated it when stuff like this happened, and it happened all the freaking time. Whatever thing he had to decide on, he was torn. Which usually ended up in a barrage of "Shut up me!" etc.

So, anyway, going off topic there. The question in your mind is: "What the hell is Jax doing in the infirmary anyway?" Well, my young padawan, he may or may not had gotten into trouble after cheating his way into victory in a game of poker with an Ares kid. Let's just say that mistakes were made, since apart from his 15 drachmas, he also got awarded a really severe beating.

Anyway, the infirmary was almost empty. The only person there was that dude that Jax couldn't place his name who he was. He'd been at camp longer than him, like, double the time spent at camp, but Jax didn't really see him around. Maybr he could have some fun with the guy. "Oy, nurse! There are injuries that need to be attained!" he told the guy. It would definitely break the ice, wouldn't it? It would...or not. Shut up me!

Galen Hofman - Son of Aceso

Galen was sitting in the corner of the infirmary, reading a book. It was quiet today, just a couple of twisted joints. Part of the reason it was so quiet is that the type of people who usually get hurt, usually have learned how to treat most of those wounds themselves. Because of that the people that usually came in were Ares kids with serious wounds or Hermes kids after a prank gone wrong. Suddenly a small bird landed on the arm of his chair, making Galen smirk. Tink, his pet parrot, was what made being the only one in the infirmary bare-able. Then a guy about his age walked through the door, and Galen noted that he as not escorted, calling "Oy, nurse! There are injuries that need to be attained!" He was cheerful meaning he couldn't be in to much pain. He was wearing white slakes with a dark grey, almost black shirt, and black boots.

Galen suppressed the smile that almost sprang up. Instead he simply marked the page of his book, and set it aside before standing. Galen was in his usual attire of blue jeans, dark brown sneakers, and his hunter green lab-coat over an olive colored t-shirt. He walked to a station that consisted of two chairs that faced each other next to a small table with medical supplies. "My name is Galen. Please come sit over here, and tell me what happened." He said motioning to the other seat as he took his own.

Maybe calling the guy nurse was a mistake. He got up, introduced formally and asked him as professional-like as he could to explained what had happened to him. There probably was some psychological term referring to that behaviour, but oh well. After thinking for a second, he decided to introduce himself to his 'doctor'. "I'm your best friend. And your worst enemy. I- uh...dad does it way better. I'm Jax. You can call me Jax. Or Jackson. Or Devitt. Or whatever pg term you feel like. Son of Janus, at your service. Or not. Who knows?" Was he rambling? Probably. "Now as to what happened..." Jax carefully chose the phrasing of his next sentence. "Some guy didn't take his loss at poker well." No need to include cheating, right? It's not cheating unless you get caught. Which he did get. But it didn't matter. Probably.

Galen Hofman - Son of Aceso

Galen eyed the guy as he sat, looking for tells that showed Galen what type of injuries he was looking for. He walked fine, meaning nothing wrong with his leg, though he obviously had a busted lip, and what was starting to become a black eye. As he sat though he seemed to wince a bit, which interested Galen a little. He then started some grand intro then decided to give up on it. He introduced himself and was very vague about the events that led him here. "Well this is a bit of a guess but, either you beat a particularly violent Ares kid, cheated an Ares kids, or cheated someone else and are really terrible in a fight." Galen said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pen light.

Galen leaned over and held Jax's eyes open as he waved the light over them he frowning a bit as he did so. Once done he put his light back into the pocket before removing a small note pad and pen from the same pocket, all the while it looking empty. Galen scribbled down a few lines before setting the pad down, and saying "Lift up your shirt." to Jax.

And the creepy doctor was actually quite right. All his three guesses were right at some extent since he cheated against a particularly violent Ares kid and he's pretty terrible at fighting. He didn't reply though, just shot a look at him that intended to be angry, but probably showed more amusement than anything else. He didn't know why though. He was almost certain -like, 40%- that he wasn't a masochist.Then the guy got his pen light outvand started examining him, then stopped to write something down. Gods, he really wanted to look like a doctor, Jax thought. Then Galen asked him to lift up his shirt. He was half tempted to make a joke about not seeing him topless before marriage, but wisely he decided not to. That was something both his split personalities agreed on. He lifted his shirt, as instructed.

Galen was beginning to realize that snarky comments were this guy's main form of communication. When Galen made his guess about the actual events, Jax gave an angry look that just wasn't coming out the way he wanted it to. Frankly Galen was mildly surprised when Jax, lifted his shirt without a word. Then he saw the bruise there. It was obviously where this person, Galen was now sure it was an Ares kid, stomped on him. "Alright, lets see how your ribs are." He said before lightly touching the bruise. He held his hand there for a few seconds before saying "Well who ever did this cracked two ribs. Was this a single kick? Or two 'r three?" He took his hand back and reached into a different pocket to pull out an clay jar, a square or gauze, and medical tape.

Jax felt like the guy was taunting him, the way he kept mentioning that he got beat up badly. And it got really furstrating, but he wouldn't tell him anything. After all he'd aleviate his pain. Then he asked him how many kicks he had taken. "I don't know. It's not like l was in a condition to count. As you said yourself, l'm really terrible at fighting. And l didn't have my dice with me either." Then he thought about it for a second, grabbed Galen's hand and with his most worried fake tone he asked: "Will l live, doc?" Then he burst into laughter. Gods, he was so NOT funny. But he enjoyed his own sense of humour and that was all that mattered.
