George blinked hard. "W-what's that supposed to mean?"

"Because l, reasonably, don't see a reason for you wanting to hang out with me.... and l am sounding unreasonable now, but it's true."

"Th-they went well?" Well, that was... interesting to hear. George thought they had gone pretty mediocre. Like, Ryan had made a decent impression on him compared to most people he knew, but George couldn't see how the same could apply to him.

"W-well yeah, b-but like, l-l don't see w-why you'd want me ariunt since l... since l am so bad at social interactions."

'Jeez this kid must hate himself...' Thought Ryan, before finding something to retort back at his awkward acquaintance with. "Have you ever that maybe, just maybe, you aren't as bad at being social as you think? I mean, besides your stutter and a hard time getting the ball rolling in a conversation, what is there to set you apart from everyone else?"

George blinked hard. Was Ryan actually meaning that? No way he did. "I-it's not a possibility. I mean... s-since l got h-here, all my interactions with people have been f-full of either awkwardness ot emotional tension."

"But have you ever asked yourself why?" Asked Ryan, finally getting out of the battle stance.

"B-because of me. B-because l am n-not good at s-social i-interactions." Obvious answer was obvious. Where was Ryan even going with this? George didn't know, which irritated him.

"Um... th-that's s-supposed to h-happen over time, b-but it just h-hasn't."

"I see..." Just then, a smile appeared on Ryan's face. "Does the camp store hire anyone, because a job is really good at honing social skills."

"Th-that a-actually sounds potentially g-good. A-a bit too many p-people f-for my l-liking but n-nothing l can d-do about that. B-but i-is it actually possible?"

"S-sure. Th-thank you f-for trying to help."

Wait, did Ryan say that to try and be helpful, like help George cope with people or, dare he think, because he was fond of him? Either scenario seemed oddly positive to be ttue, but George just decided to follow the son of Ares without a word.
