Child of the Forge Empty Child of the Forge

    Child of the Forge 1z319nd
    Name: Skylar Jones
    Age: 18
    Gender: female
    Eyes: brown
    Hair: blonde
    Height: 5’2”
    Body Type: athletic
    Skin Color: beige
God Parent: Hephaestus-God of metalworking, building, sculpture, and artistry.
    Mortal Parent: Maria Jones
    Country of Origin: USA
    Pets: Fennec Fox named Peaches
    Talents: drawing
    Weapon**: CB twin swords
Personality: Skylar tends to have a bad habit of keeping to herself. She often times spends her days either in the forge working on sketches for jewelry the Aphrodite girls gave her or in a quiet area of camp to sketch her day away into a world of fantasy drawings and giving life to characters she dreamt of or thought up. The teen is very creative with what she enjoys and tends to come up with crazy and innovative ways to make those ideas come to life. Due to her upbringing as well Skylar has a hard love of animals and Peaches is typically with her at all hours of the day no matter what she’s doing. So one of the big things that Skylar was never good about was taking a compliment and that translates into her inability to take a compliment and thus being relatively insecure about the way she looks in general, the main thing being that her arms are muscular and she had broader shoulders than most women. The daughter of Hephaestus cannot stand messy work spaces. Be it their work station in the forge or even a place to work in Arts and Crafts, the mess will bother her to no end and to the point where she will clean it up just so as to not have to look at it anymore. She enjoys spending time with Peaches and her mother, along with a select few siblings, and simply putting her art ideas to good use both in fun trinkets and even weapons for the Ares kids to use.
Flaws: keeps to herself, gets lost in her imagination, insecure about her looks, her eyesight is also pretty shot so she wears contacts and glasses, OCD as hell
Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): Withstand heat up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit without flinching and has a cool ability to see the blueprints for an idea as if it were 3D In front of her. (think Tony Stark’s computer generated things) Skylar can also sense faults in metal ore, has thermal vision at night, has an immunity to fire, and can instinctively fly or drive any mechanical vehicle expertly (including cars, trains, or helicopters).
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional): none
Life Before Camp*: Born December 31,1997 Skylar Andronikos Marie Jones was brought into the world to Maria Jones and a man who would never really play a part in her life again until later on. Marie and Skylar both lived in New York City, New York and Maria worked happily as a Zookeeper. Skylar was always a bit distance as a child, unless she was with her mother at the zoo or at home in which she was a bit more relaxed, and in doing so she didn’t have a whole lot of friends growing up. With a mother working at the zoo there were often times where exotic animal babies would be cares for at their home considering they lived in a place where they had a decent backyard. Skylar grew up alongside animals like tigers, wolves, red pandas and even the occasional lion cub. In doing so she often had scratches and scars on her arms but loved each and every one of them.

One such animal that she fell in love with was a little Fennec Fox which she named Peaches due to the color of his fur looking like a peach when he was younger. Seeing as the fox was rejected by his mother at birth the little creature ended up living with the Jones family for its entire life and he grew very attached to Skylar. Up until she was thirteen the girl had had a pretty average upbringing. Her mother married a man when she was seven who fathered two younger brothers, Kaden and Joseph, and Skylar continued to cope with her Dyslexia and ADHD that she never got put on medication for considering she found ways to help balance it naturally. On her thirteenth birthday she went to her typical café with her mother to celebrate being a teenager. For the majority of that morning Maria had been acting a little nervous and it was explained when she handed a package to her daughter wrapped in gold colored wrapping paper. Upon opening it she found a mechanical dragon, which Skylar named Gizmo, and a letter from her birth father, a man who she didn’t know much about other than the fact that her mother always seemed to melt when she mentioned the fact that Skylar’s eyes were exactly like his.

After the café visit the two went home and Skylar proceeded to open the letter from her father and placed Gismo, who she thought was a statue, on her dresser while closing her bedroom door. Sitting on her bed she began reading the letter addressed to her, rather formally, in a handwriting that seemed not so much rushed but rather a bit sloppy. It was a letter explaining why her father was never there as she grew up and that Gismo was a special creation he made for her as sort of an apology and also something to help when she created her works of art. As she finished the letter and looked back to Gizmo, Skylar noticed the dragon was sitting up on the dresser, tail flicking behind him, as he looked at her with gemstone eyes. She shrieked a bit and flailed a bit before the dragon spoke in a curious voice that sounded a bit like her younger brother Kaden’s and explained who he was and where he came from, a projector in his chest making 3D holographs to explain better.

From then on there was a growing interest in the ancient Greek gods and goddesses and the summer of her thirteenth birthday she went to Camp Half-Blood as her Gizmo’s explanation and her mother agreeing with the robot as well, seeing as she apparently already knew the robot as well. At first it was just for the summer but when she turned sixteen she began going year round in order to stay more safe, considering her abilities were starting to slowly appear, and to get to know more about her family heritage. She still talks with her siblings, even if they think her abilities are odd sometimes.
    RP Example*: n/a
Any notes about your characters: Skylar has a mechanical artificially intelligent dragon that she has rightfully named Gizmo. He was a gift from her father for her 13 birthday and can fly. He is 4ft long and 1.5ft tall at the shoulders. Gizmo also has a very interesting feature. The robot has a voice box built into him so he can actually speak and communicate with anyone he wants to, knowing every language on planet earth. He also has a small projector in his chest so that he can project recorded footage in front of him for any reason really.
