Chatting and Chariots (P)

Lorne took in a deep breath as he thought about what he was soon to tell Vi. He hadn't plan on doing it today, but thanks to his ADHD, Lorne Bolt decided that today would be that day. He wasn't really out as bisexual to anyone other than a small handful of his siblings who saw him walk into their cabin with a certain son of Ares. Speaking of his siblings, he was the last to leave the place where the chariots was so he basically had the place to himself. For now.

The son of Nike adjusted the baby blue Ren Fair hoodie that wasn't his and started to clean off his cabin's gold and white chariot.

Lorne turned around to see one of his favorite demigods at camp, Vi. With a wide smile, the son of Nike gave her a hug.

"Yo, Vi. What's good witchu?" Around Vi, he knew that he didn't have to hide his urban accent from her. She knew that he wasn't just some stereotypical thug that he was sure a good number of people back home thought of him flax-wench even though his father lived in upper middle class neighborhood and had a well paying job. However, this isn't about stereotyping.

The son of Nike let go of her and smiled, turning back around to continue to wash the chariot.

"That's what's up." Lorne nodded his head. He paused and looked over his shoulder at the daughter of Enyo. "I'm doin' fine. Just got finished chariot racin' so now I'm just doin' one of my chores." Lorne didn't want to automatically talking about his personal life so he decided to keep things general. "Beat anyone's @ss? I know you probably have." The African American demigod chuckled and went back to washing. "If you want, you can clean the minor war kids' chariot. Maybe we could, uh, go for a smooth chariot ride and talk."

Lorne looked over at Vivienne with his eyebrows turned in. "Hm? Yeah, I'm fine." He chuckled nervously. "I'm always fine. Especially after I win a game or somethin'." The son of Nike gave her a false reassuring smile and turned back to his cabin.

"I just, uh, been hangin' out wit' someone." That was vague enough, right? Lorne sure hoped so. "When's the last time your cabin practice chariot racing?"

Lorne felt slightly relieved that Vivienne didn't continue on with what he said about hanging out with someone. "Right, right. I guess every cabin has their thing, y'know? The Athena's have learnin', Apollo kids have healing and music, and us Nike kids have sports and chariot racin'." He shrugged his shoulders and continued washing the sides of the chariot before jogging over to the stables to grab four horses. After he came back, he handed two of the reins to Vi. "There ya go."

After hooking up his horses, Lorne looked over at Vi and got into his chariot. "Really? Who?" He didn't know much about Vi's dating life, but he for sure knew that she was not only a beautiful young woman, but a strong and powerful demigod. If he ever had to go into battle, it would be with her. "Tell me about 'em."

Soon, a grin started to spread across his face. "That's very vague, but I can't really fault you for that, tho'." Lorne shrugged his shoulders as he led them out by his chariot. "Alright, fellas, no racing today. Just a friendly canter, 'ight? You guys deserve a break." Lorne smiled and looked over at Vi. "Tell me more about him."

"I thought so when you said that he was here at camp." Lorne chuckled. "Come on, there has to be more. Like, who's his god parent or how old his he?" The son of Nike held the reigns with one hand briefly as he scratched the back of his neck. Lorne took the other reign and smiled some. He was curious how much alike he was with the guy that Vi was talking to.

Uh oh. Now Vi had turn the conversation back to him. Dammit! Lorne was not using her love life as a diversion, but he was actually very interested. "Okay, let's do this, then. We ask each other one question and which off. Good?" Lorne looked over at Vivienne, then back at the track in front of them. "...I'm going to guess...son of Hecate."

Lorne's heart skipped a beat when Vi particularly declined. This was going to be harder for him to do. Taking in a deep breath, he decided to start off easy. "Demigod, around six foot..." The son of Nike didn't answer the third question and decided to keep on guessing.

"Okay is he a son of an Olympian god or goddess?" That would help narrow things down by a lot. There was only twelve Olympians and six or seven of them actually had kids. Or were allowed to that is.

The son of Nike pulled on the reigns as they rounded the corner. "Huh, you might've." He shrugged his shoulders and looked over at Vivienne, then back at the lanes in front of him. "Anyway, god or goddess?" Lorne smirked. Just a few more questions and guesses, then the guy that Vi was talking to would be reveled.

Goddess, huh? That narrowed it down to exactly five choices. He knew right off the bat that he wasn't a son of Hera and Artemis. "'Ight, 'ight. Let's see, is it either Demeter, Aphrodite, or Athena?" He wouldn't be surprised if it was a son of Athena. Lorne could imagine the two of them together at some war tactic table being all strategic and whatnot.

Now it came his turn to answer Vi's question. Lorne knew that as soon as he said his name, the daughter of Enyo would know exactly who it is that she's dating. This thought alone sent shivers down his spin. Was he honestly ready to come out to Vivienne as bisexual? It wasn't like he got the vibe from her that she would be opposed to it, but it would just be him coming out. Lorne took in a deep breath and stared forward. "...Jackson." His face immediately felt warm and his tongue felt weird. "...That's his name."

"...Aphrodite? Seriously? That's who you've been seeing? A son of Aphrodite." Lorne was honestly shocked and didn't know what to say in response. "...Wow, okay." He nodded his head slowly and let that sink in for a moment. Maybe he wasn't the stereotypical Aphrodite kid that he was thinking of. It just might be some bad boy son of Aphrodite. Who knows? Well, she did.

"Thanks." He let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, yeah. I know that. I know I can come to you for everything, but it just feels weird admitting it out loud like this."
