I walk to the climbing wall. I begin to climb.

I walk to the climbing wall and grab some fingerless gloves. I pulled them on and jumped to get a head start on the wall. I swiftly found foot holds to get higher. Then I noticed Jace. "Hi Jace!" I yelled over to her.

"Hey!" I say. I shift to the side as a hot rock came down where I was just hanging. "Have you done this before?" I asked her.

"Of course," I said. A hot rock came in my direction so I sidestepped on the ledge I had been standing on. "Minus the lava and heated rocks falling from overhead."

"Haha." I climbed a few feet up and then to the right before a spout of lava could get to me. "Ugh, it's hot up here."

I laugh. I keep going up the wall and reach the top. "You gunna get up here anytime soon, Tori?" I yell down to her.

On the way up I had already calculated the best path down. It would be very unlikely that I would get any falling rocks, therefore no useless sidestepping. Going down was much faster than up. About a quarter of the way down, I saw a rock falling right above Jace. I smiled. That should slow her down.

I saw a rock and dove to diagonally down and to the right. It hadn't slowed me much and I was about a foot and a half closer to the bottom than Tori. I kept going.

About half-way down, I had caught back up to her. I reached a ledge and kicked a few tiny rocks in Jace's direction. They jabbed into her leg. I continued my descent hardly stopping for my devious trick.

"Ow!" I paused for a moment. But that had cost me. I kept going. Her head was about six inches below my foot. I knew then that I couldn't win. I kicked some rocks at her.

It rained rocks on me, but I had expected her to do that. About 10 feet from the ground, I jumped down. I looked up and saw that Jace was still about 20 feet above the ground. "I win!" I said with a satisfied smile.

"Thanks!" I said, keeping my secrets to myself. "Should we go the the arena?" I asked, wanting to get out Shui and Huo again.
