It had left me exhausted for days. But it was worth seeing her live another day. I just hoped it would work on him.

I can feel beads of sweat starting to form on my brow, my eyes narrowed in deep concentration. I bite my lip, hard enough to make it bleed. Twin pinpricks of blood bead from my canines, the teeth digging deep into my bottom lip. Every once of my being is focused on this one wound, on making it close, on saving this camper.
