Kyla's Bunk

I come in and sit down. Worst first day ever. I thought. How could this of happened? It was my first freaking day. Maybe tomorrow would be better. Maybe. I got under the sheet and tried to go to sleep. I couldn't. I just layed there, with my eyes closed, hoping I would fall asleep.

I woke up. Hmm. I guess I did fall asleep. I got up and left.

I walk in and sit on my bed. I put my bow and arrows on the small night stand and lay down. I pull the covers over myself and went to sleep.

After an internal debate, I decide to go apologise to Kyla. I knock lightly on the door of the cabin. I hear no reply and pop my head in. Ah, she's sleeping. I pull out the piece of a paper I was drawing on a few days earlier and a pen. Think. C'mon, Randel! Your mom's the muse of poetry and love as well! Write! So I quickly scribble out the note and leave it on the stand by the door. I take a deep breath and walk away.
The note reads:
Kyla,
I'm sorry for, ah, y'know. I was wondering if we could hang out sometime--just as friends. I hope I didn't ruin your days here. I just want to know if we can still be friends. Please.

I woke up. I reached over to get my bow and arrow and I saw a note. I read it, a bit relived. I got up and walked out, hoping this wouldn't be awkward.

I walked back, got in my bed, and went to sleep.

I woke up and left.

I walk in with my cupcake and sit down. After I finish eating it, I realized my bed wasn't made. I never kept my room clean, but for some reason, I just had to have my bed made. I made my bed and left.

I walk in with my basket of straberries. I set them down on my bed and ate a few. I left them there and walked out.

I walked back in, put the basket of strawberries on the floor, got under the sheet, and just stayed there, trying to get it through my head that my mom was gone, forever.

"Huh? Randel?" I said through the pillow. Oh crap. Not here. Not while I'm crying. "Do you, uh, need something?"

"Uh..." I sat up. I thought for a moment. I could tell him. But, I shoudn't be complaining to him. "Nothing, it's nothing," I said holding back tears.

I couldn't help it. I nearly choked him as I hugged him. Tears came down my face again, but I couldn't stop.

I pulled away and looked down. I breathed hard and sniffed as I wiped my eyes.

I looked at him and caught my breath. "Yeah?" I said, quietly.

I will myself to say it out loud. "I will do whatever it takes to esure your happiness. I. . ." That part, I can not finish. But I have to, even if sacrifices follow. "I love you." I practically whisper. I turn myself in a position so that when she tells me to go, I'll be ready.

I sat there frozen for a second, making sure I heard that right. Love? I suddenly stopped thinking. I turned his head towards me and kissed him.

I pulled back for a second. I looked him straight in the eye and smiled at him.
