Layla finished the picture and bit her lip. "You can move now." She laughed and looked at his tense figure. Layla singed her name under the drawing and ripped it out of the notebook. "Here." She hande the drawing to him.

Re: Reading books in the water
"You can trust me. Eu prometo."
Conner looked at the drawing without turning his head, or moving in general besides his eyes. Slowly going from stone to man, he reached for the drawing and examined it and all the detail closer. It was as if he were looking at a photograph. His lips broke into a huge smile and he looked at Layla.
"This is amazingly beautiful. You are very talented." He complemented with a laugh of disbelief. If only he could draw this good. Or...do artwork in general. All of his previous creations had been failures, so Conner thought it was safer to just ditch the hobby.

Layla smiled and looked at the ground. "Aww thanks." She played with a single blade or grass, still grinning from ear to ear. "You can keep it, so you will remember me." Layla looked up at him smirking.

"You can trust me. Eu prometo."
Conner snorted once when he laughed and shook his head. He folded the paper and slid it into the inner pocket of his Letterman jacket.
"Alright, because it's not like we go to the same camp or anything." He teased happily. A soft breeze swept through the creek and reminded Conner of some forms he needed to fill out. The boy really wanted to get back to school, which sounded weird. But to him, school meant having a bunch of friends, being class president, having another family outside of the twisted system of camp.

Layla smiled. "What if I leave camp and never see you again?" She raised an eyebrow and laid back down on the grass.
