Capture the Flag #14 -- Game 4.

Jane had gotten tired of doing nothing in the forest, stumbling around for anything to do. She had refused the plan that her 'teammates' had planned and went on her own. Now boredom wanted to affect her, and it was as she tightened her pale hands around the grip of her machetes. She swore the next person she came across would be dead.

The daughter of Melinoe heard the sound of rushing water and approached towards the sound, then paused as she saw a girl hiding among rocks with a bow in hand, looking across the wide expanse of the river. "This will do nicely..." She whispered, not caring that it was one of her teammates as she pounced from her hiding place among the brush and slammed into the girl, forcing her bow and have her arrows into the river.

Rachel was caught off guard by janes sudden slam and gasped, half her arsenal going into the water as she turned and received a punch to the face. "Jane you idiot!" She snarled and grabbed her expandable staff from her battle skirt, pushing it against the demented girl. Jane wouldn't be outdone though and began to ruthlessly attack the child of Apollo, and eventually overpowered her by brute strength, slamming her into the river.

Rachel coughed and struggled in the water, flowing downstream and trying to swim to a bank. She finally made it, but lay on enemy territory, the current of the ever having disarmed and weakened her. Coughing some water up she pushed herself up and groaned.

Suddenly, David saw the flag. It was there, in the clearing, in front of him. "Astrid!" he hissed, and pointed at it. Both of them started creeping towards it, keeping their heads low and trying to make as less noise as possible.

The defenders of the flag had not yet noticed them, both of them standing ten feet away from the large banner as they looked around the forest for any signs of life.

David and Astrid kept crawling under the leaves, making as less noise as possible until they arrived at the edge of the clearing.

"FOR DEMETER!" David shouted and shot out of the clearing, running straight at the defenders while Astrid stayed in cover, creeping around the clearing.

Both defenders saw him and ran to engage, thinking that he would be alone as they raise their weapons and worked together to attack th enemy.

David had not much hope on a good outcome, he was not that good of a warrior. He just hoped Astrid would be quick.
He parried and deflected blows with both shield and sword but he was more defending himself than actually attacking.

The defenders continued to attack him, not even thinking that he would have a partner. One began to heavily engage from the front, while the other circled behind him.

David got quickly disarmed and looked at the defenders helplessly, then realized the flag was gone.
Astrid was racing towards the border.

The defenders quickly realized they had been tricked and raced off to find the person with the flag, hopefully preventing them from crossing the border.

Bic: David raced off after them; he wasn't good at fighting but he was good at running. He caught up with the defenders, and aimed stabs at them, while Astrid, realizing she was followed, only sprinted faster.

One of the defenders tried to block off the attacks while the other ran. They went as fast as they could, only gradually catching up to Astrid who heels the banner within her hand.

Astrid saw them catch up and raced as fast as she could; the border was not so far away, a hundred meters, one hundred fifty at most.

David ran behind the defenders, who were faster than him; he started falling behind.

The defenders were gaining on Astrid, but it was highly unlikely that they would make it to her. In a fit of desperation one threw his sword at her.

Astrid felt something heavy and metallic hit her back with force, making her topple over. She let go of the flag in her fall and winced at the pain in her shoulder blade, screwing her face up in pain.

Th guards ran up and grabbed the flag, yanking it away rom her.

Astrid winced. She was just meters away from the border! Standing back up, she went to face them again, when the bushes on the opposite side started rustling and a figure came running at them, quickly stepping over the boulders in the river, clutching the red flag.

"No!" she said as the person reached the other border.

Chiron blew his whistle. "Blue team wins!"
